American Nurse of Pennsylvania Charged with Killing 2 Patients Confesses to 19 Other Attempted Murders

Heather Pressdee was arrested in May on homicide and other charges for allegedly prescribing excessive insulin to patients

It is frustrating to find out that there nurses in the western countries who ought to save lives but end up killing patients  and majority of these criminals are white

A former Pennsylvania nurse, who was arrested in May on homicide and other charges, has confessed to trying to kill 19 other people, according to authorities. 

On Thursday, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office announced dozens of new charges against Heather Pressdee, 41, who was previously accused of having prescribed excessive amounts of insulin to patients, ultimately killing two patients and hospitalizing a third.

“Today, the Office of Attorney General filed charges regarding mistreatment of 19 additional patients at five different care facilities between 2020 and this year,” a November 2 press release read. 

“Pressdee is accused of administering excessive amounts of insulin to these patients, some of whom were diabetic and required insulin, and some of whom were not. In total, seventeen patients died who had been cared for by Pressdee,” the release added.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed November 2, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said Pressdee, of Natrona Heights, had admitted to trying to kill 19 other patients with insulin at five different rehabilitation centers.

“It is hard to comprehend how a nurse, trusted to care for her patients, could choose to deliberately and systematically harm them,” Attorney General Michelle Henry said in a statement shared on Facebook Thursday. 

“The damage done to the victims and their loved ones cannot be overstated. Every person in a medical or care facility should feel safe and cared for, and my office will work tirelessly to hold Pressdee accountable for her crimes and protect care-dependent Pennsylvanians from future harm.”

The victims ranged in age from 43 to 104. “Pressdee typically administered the insulin during overnight shifts when staffing was low and the emergencies would not prompt immediate hospitalization,” the release added, with Henry also calling the allegations “disturbing.”

In total, Pressdee has been charged regarding her mistreatment of 22 patients. The charges include two counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of attempted murder and 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.

According to the release, the alleged crimes happened at the following facilities: Concordia at Rebecca Residence, Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Guardian), Quality Life Services Chicora, Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Pressdee was arraigned on Thursday and waived her preliminary hearing on these charges. She remains in custody at Butler County Prison without bail.

In May, Pressdee was arraigned on two counts of homicide, one count of attempted murder, one count of aggravated assault, three counts of neglect of a care-dependent person and three counts of reckless endangerment.

Per a May 25 press release from the Attorney General’s Office, the alleged acts happened at Quality Life Services, a skilled nursing facility in Chicora where Pressdee worked as a registered nurse.

 

Australian woman charged with murdering in-laws with poisonous mushrooms 

Australian authorities announced that media Erin Patterson, has been charged following the deaths of three people

An Australian white woman charged with murdering three people in a suspected mushroom poisoning case is also accused of trying to murder her ex-partner on four occasions, court documents say.

Erin Patterson, 49, was charged with three counts of murder and five of attempted murder on Thursday.

The murder charges relate to a family lunch she hosted in July at her home in the town of Leongatha, Victoria.

Ms Patterson continues to maintain her innocence

She appeared briefly in court on Friday, where her case was adjourned until 3 May to give prosecutors time to analyse computer equipment seized from her home during a police search. She did not apply for bail.

About half a dozen TV crews were lined up outside the hearing in the small town of Morwell, about 60km (37 miles) from Leongatha.

But for the cameras and curious locals there was no glimpse of Ms Patterson, who was moved from her overnight police cell into the court building via a connecting tunnel.

In court documents released to local media on Friday, police allege Ms Patterson attempted to kill her estranged husband Simon Patterson three times between November 2021 and September 2022.

The alleged fourth attempt was on the day she served a beef Wellington lunch to his parents Gail and Don Patterson, aunt Heather Wilkinson and her husband Ian Wilkinson. Simon Patterson did not attend the meal.

Erin Patterson has said she made the dish using a mixture of button mushrooms bought from a supermarket, and dried mushrooms purchased at an Asian grocery months earlier.

All four of her guests were later taken to hospital reporting violent illness, police say.

Within days the Patterson couple, both 70, and Ms Wilkinson, 66, had died. Mr Wilkinson, 68, was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later recovered.

Police say they believe the four ate death cap mushrooms - which are highly lethal if ingested.

Ms Patterson was named as a suspect after she and her two children appeared unharmed after the lunch.

But she maintains she never intended to poison her guests and says that she herself was taken to hospital after the meal and given medication to guard against liver damage.

"I am now devastated to think that these mushrooms may have contributed to the illness suffered by my loved ones," she wrote in a statement in August.

Police have stressed the complexity of the case, describing it as a tragedy that may "reverberate for years to come".

"I cannot think of another investigation that has generated this level of media and public interest, not only here in Victoria, but also nationally and internationally," Homicide squad Inspector Dean Thomas said on Thursday.

 

American cop of Connecticut charged with assault after stun gunning accused beer thief

Nicholas Kehoss was charged with assault and cruelty to a person for using his Taser on a suspect three times during an arrest.

A Naugatuck police officer was charged with assault for using his Taser on a suspect three times during an arrest earlier this month.

On Monday, Naugatuck police released bodycam footage of Officer Nicholas Kehoss taking 23-year-old Jarell Day from Waterbury into custody on Oct. 14. Day allegedly stole $200 worth of beer from a ShopRite. Naugatuck Police Chief C. Colin McAllister said the suspect did not have a weapon at the time of his arrest.

Kehoss, 36, turned himself in Monday on an active arrest warrant. He was charged with third-degree assault and one count of cruelty to a person. He was released on a $50,000 court-set cash or surety bond and is due in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 8.

Kehoss, a 13-year department veteran, was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcomes of the criminal and internal investigations.

McAllister said Kehoss has a disciplinary history. In 2020, Kehoss shot at a suspect during a traffic stop. The inspector general’s office determined that the shooting was justified. 

“I think this again highlights the stress that officers face out there,” McAllister said Monday when asked to comment on how Kehoss responded. “They have to constantly pivot between managing an active scene, active situation, suspects who are out there, actively trying to avoid apprehension. And I think the video is descriptive of that. That’s why we wanted to get this out there. We’re being transparent and showing how this initiated, law enforcement contact, and how it played through.” 

No one was injured in the Oct. 14 incident.

The Naugatuck Police Department said after a supervisory review, concerns were raised over Kehoss’ use of the Taser. The issue was then brought to the Waterbury State’s Attorney, who referred the matter to Connecticut State Police.

The city has hired an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation. Mayor Pete Hess said the investigation was asked to be completed expeditiously. 

The Greater Waterbury NAACP chapter president was at the press conference Monday afternoon. Wendy Tyson-Wood declined to comment on the video directly but was grateful the video was released. 

“I think the importance of the transparency is that we are moving in the right direction,” she said. “We thanked the police officers, we thanked the mayor, we thank the state’s attorney’s office for at least doing this. This is a big step, and I think it’s a model we can continue in other communities.” 

Day faces several charges, including robbery, larceny, interfering with an officer/resisting, reckless driving and disobeying the signal of an officer. He was released on a $200,000 bond.

 

American woman of North Dakota charged after poisoning her boyfriend hours after he received an inheritance

Ina Thea Kenoyer, 47, was charged with the Sept. 5 murder of Steven Edward Riley Jr.

A North Dakota woman has been charged with murder after allegedly poisoning her boyfriend due to "financial motives," police say

Ina Thea Kenoyer, 47, was arrested by Minot police Monday. She is accused of using antifreeze to kill 51-year-old Steven Edward Riley Jr. after learning that he planned to break up with her after receiving a large inheritance. 

Riley reportedly became ill while meeting with a lawyer Sept. 3 to get the money. Kenoyer called 911 the next day, and paramedics found Riley unresponsive. He was originally taken to a local medical facility before being transferred to a Bismarck hospital where he died Sept. 5, police said on Facebook. 

Following an autopsy, Riley's cause of death was determined to be poisoning.

"Investigators said they found a glass cleaner bottle without a cap, as well as a beer bottle and mug, containing suspected antifreeze, in the couple’s residence," KMOT-TV states. The media outlet says Kenoyer claimed her innocence during a court appearance Tuesday.

Kenoyer is charged with murder as a class AA felony, the most severe homicide charge in North Dakota, and is being held at the Ward County Jail on a $1 million bond, according to online records. She is representing herself, court records obtained by the Associated Press state. 

She told investigators that she was entitled to some of Riley's inheritance as his common-law wife and planned to split the money, which she estimated to be about $30 million, with his son, the records show. According to the New York Post, North Dakota does not recognize common-law marriages. 

"This case was extremely complex," Investigations Commander Capt. Dale Plessas said. "Thank you to everyone who provided us with information that helped our investigators piece this together."

Kenoyer's next court appearance is slated for Dec. 7. She faces a maximum sentence of life without parole. 

 

Ugandan Court Orders Inhumane American Couple to Compensate Tortured 10-Year-Old Boy

An American couple in Uganda has been convicted of cruel and inhumane treatment of a 10-year boy, who was in their care.

The couple was found guilty of six charges and ordered to pay more than $26,000 in compensation to the boy, who is now in a children’s home.

Justice Alice Komuhangi started delivering her verdict by describing the situation as a systemic problem with no mechanisms to take care of children like the 10-year-old.

“That’s why the victim found himself in the hands of the accused persons who are no citizens of Uganda and also suffering from ill health.," Komuhangi said. "The child was in need of help and support, having lost his father and having been abandoned by his own mother.”

The American couple, Nicholas Scott Spencer and wife Mackenzie Leigh Mathias Spencer, were arrested in December 2022 and charged with aggravated torture of the child, who was living in foster care at their home in Kampala.

Prosecutors said the couple withdrew the boy from school, isolated him in a room away from other children, made him sleep on a wooden slab without a cushion and kept him naked.

The prosecution’s statement adds that the boy was made to sit in one position with his legs crossed and folded as they fed him frozen food while monitoring him on CCTV cameras installed in the room.

The Spencers were later charged with aggravated child trafficking, to which they pleaded guilty and, in March, released on bail.

Judge Komuhangi found the Spencers guilty of six charges Tuesday, including cruel and degrading treatment of a child, child neglect, unlawful stay in Uganda and employment without a work permit.

The judge fined Mackenzie Spencer $1,000 for illegally staying in Uganda, giving her the option of paying the fine or spending two years in prison.

The judge fined Scott Spencer $400 for child neglect. He will have to serve a sentence of six months in prison if he can’t pay.

Judge Komuhangi also ordered each of them to pay the child $13,200 in compensation by the end of the day Tuesday.

“You’re also supposed to compensate and each one of you shall compensate this child to the tune of 50 million Uganda shillings, which makes it a total of 100 million Uganda shillings,” Komuhangi said.

If the Spencers cannot pay the fine, they will have to serve the jail terms.

The boy has been taken to a children’s home pending the appointment of a trustee, who will be given access to the money to take care of him.

Disturbing footage shows the moment a teenager brutally attacked a young Korean woman in Sydney in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to Instagram account ‘degeneratehunting’, which uploaded the footage, the Korean woman and her friend were walking back to their hotel when they were approached by two teenagers near Town Hall in the city’s CBD.

The women, who are from Melbourne and aged 23 and 32, “suddenly passed a group of young teenagers slurring racist remarks and threats towards them”.

“The white lowlife wild teenagers then turned from their direction of travel and began following the two Korean girls, bringing one of them to start recording for self defence,” the post read.

Footage shows the Korean woman in a tussle with one of the teenagers on the street before she is dragged to the floor and struck multiple times.

The woman manages to get to her feet briefly before she is dragged back down again and kicked and continuously struck in her head..

In the background, the second teenager is heard yelling “bash the b****” as she cheers on her friend.

She later spots the woman’s friend filming the video before launching towards the camera.

The camera shakes multiple times before it is picked up and taken by the teenager.

 

American Actress Hannah Star Esser in court for the murder of Victor Anthony Luis who was mowed down after the pair got into an argument about a cat

A 20-year-old actress who was charged with murder after allegedly mowing down a man she believed had tried to run over a cat has appeared in court for a preliminary hearing today. 

Hannah Star Esser got into a verbal altercation in Cypress, California, in September 2022 with Victor Anthony Luis, 43, who she believed was trying to run over a cat with his SUV. 

Prosecutors said the two got out of their cars and had a dispute, which Esser filmed on her phone.

Esser then got back in her car before making a U-turn and accelerating towards Luis, striking him with the front right side of her car.

Luis was launched onto the hood and windshield before being flipping several times and landing on the street, according to Orange County district attorneys. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Esser was arrested after Cypress Police Department Officers arrived and was taken to Orange County Jail where she was charged with murder. 

Exclusive pictures of her at her preliminary hearing before trial were obtained by DailyMail.com. 

She was seen in orange jailhouse clothes while appearing before Judge Katherine E. Lewis at the Orange County Superior Court.

If found guilty, she could be imprisoned for 25 years.  

At the time of the arrest, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said: 'This action showed a complete disregard for human life. 

'The Orange County District Attorney’s Office will ensure that this random act of violence targeting a stranger will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.'

Her trial date is not yet known and at the time of arrest, her bail had been set at $1 million. 

A GoFundme was set up for Luis's family last year, which successfully reached its goal of $20,000. He left behind a wife and five daughters. 

It remains unclear if there was a cat on the scene at the time, and if any animals had been hurt during the incident.
