The Coronavirus Pandemic News - India
As the Coronavirus continues to ravages the world, people are advised to wear masks to somehow help to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. Wearing mask is a sign of mutual respect during the pandemic. It will protect other people as you are being protected from acquiring Covid-19 when they do the same. Since the outbreak emerged from Wuhan, there is been a huge demand for masks. Perhaps the most unique and expensive mask there is can be found in India.
In Pune, a 48 year old Shankar Kuharde wears his mask made out of gold as he poses for photo shoot amid the pandemic in India which earned alot of criticisms. According to Kuharde, he paid around $4,000 to customize a his precious mask to protect him from the Coronavirus but admits of uncertainty if it's effective. The gold layer of the mask weighs around 60 grams ( 2 ounces ) and it took around 8 days for the goldsmith to finish the golden mask, said businessman Kuharde.
"It is a thin mask and has very tiny porse that is helping me to breathe." Kuharde told the media.
"I'm not sure if this will protect me from the Coronavirus infection but I'm taking other precautions." Kuharde added.
"Kuharde also mentioned to the media that everytime he goes out, he really likes to adorn himself with different sorts of gold jewelries like necklace, bracelet and ring on each finger of his right hand. People become awestruck everytime they see him wearing a golden mask in public places.
Since the Coronavirus cases soar in India, wearing masks has become mandatory to somehow to slow down cross contamination from one person to another since the nationwide lockdown didn't help to curb the spread. As of July 5, India has 673,165 of confirmed cases with a total fatalities of 19,268.
