Twitter permanently booted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from the social-media platform Sunday, saying she had repeatedly violated its policies by posting misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic.
The Georgia Republican’s personal account “@mtgreenee” was permanently blocked, although her congressional account “@RepMTG” is still online.
Twitter said they banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s account “for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy |
“We permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” Twitter said in a statement. “We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”

Greene responded to the ban by going on the social media site Telegram to call Twitter an “enemy of the people.”
“Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” the congresswoman said. She went on to say she’ll show America that “we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.”
“They can’t successfully complete a Communist revolution when people tell the truth,” she said, adding that “Communist Democrats can’t stop the truth.”
“I stand with the truth and the people. We will overcome!” she declared.
Twitter has taken similar actions against politicians and even news sites over content that the social media giant deems to violate its policies.
It permanently banned former President Donald Trump last January “due to the risk of further incitement of violence” over his postings about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
Trump, who had 88.6 million followers, called the ban “disgusting.”
Twitter also blocked The Post from tweeting its bombshell report in October 2020 about Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings, information that came from the laptop of President Biden’s son. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey eventually backed down two weeks later and unlocked the account, leading The Post to declare “Free Bird!”
Jason Miller, a former Trump adviser and campaign spokesman, called on Greene to join his social media app Gettr.
“Free speech is under assault once again! Fortunately, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene will always have a political voice at #GETTR,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
It’s not known which tweet prompted the penalty, but on Saturday, the Rolling Stone reported that she tweeted that before the coronavirus deaths from vaccines were rare.
But now an “extremely high amount of covid vaccine deaths are ignored and government forced vaccine mandates are increased.”
Twitter previously suspended Greene’s account for a week in August after she tweeted that the federal Food and Drug Administration “should not approve the covid vaccines,” saying the shots are “failing.”
Sunday’s ban was the fourth time Twitter has taken action against Greene over what it called misinformation.
Greene also has been hit with more than $80,000 in fines for violating Congress’ mask rules over 30 times.
In an interview in November with Newsmax, Green revealed that she hasn’t been vaccinated.
”And I will be standing strong, standing up for the people across this country that refuse to get vaccinated,” she said.
Her office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
