73% of Filipino citizens believe that the number of illegal drug users have reduced since Duterte came into power

Manila, Philippines - Around 73% of Filipino citizens believe that the number of illegal drug users and drug addicts have lessened and neutralized since President Rodrigo came into power in June of 2016. This poll survey result was presented by the Social Weather Station ( SWS ).
The SWS survey was conducted on December 13 to 16, 2019 but was only released on January 13, 2020. In that 73%, about 23% stated that it was totally reduced and about 46% said that it was somewhat reduced.
On the contrary, 14 % believe otherwise that the number of drug users and addicts have increased since three years have passed. In that percentage, 6% said that it increased while 8% said that it somewhat increased.
And another 12 % claimed that the number remain the same.
Based on the 2015 survey presented by the Dangerous Drug Board ( DDB ) on the number of illegal drug users and drug addicts in the country - the latest available data from the government reveals that there are about 1.8 million illegal drug users and addicts in the Philippines.
