Moscow - The former Soviet Union says on Tuesday that their Sputnik covid-19 vaccine shows a promising results of more than 91 % effective after the phase 1 and 2 trials.
The data were obtained 28 days after the first dose and 7days after the second dose that showed significant results of 91.4% efficacy.
Calculations were based on analysis of data of 18,795 Russian volunteers who received both first and second doses and there were no adverse effects noted after the phases of trials.
Now, around 40,000 volunteers are partaking in the phase 3 trials where more than 22,000 Russians were vaccinated.
Other countries like the Philippines, India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia show interest in acquiring the Sputnik vaccine. President Duterte of the Philippines already expressed that once the vaccine is ready, it will made available to all Filipinos but the frontliners will be prioritized and will be vaccinated first.
Once the Sputnik vaccine is ready, it will be distributed globally.
