According to Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City police chief, police assigned at Sub- Station 10 immediately conducted validation on the report circulating on social media that the iconic globe was stolen.

Paday-os said after a public notice regarding an incident was released by the SM Mall of Asia management, police immediately coordinated with Archie Deseo of SM MOA Civil Relations Service and said there was no security concern reported to them.

He also said Carl Malabanan, contractor of Aplify Experience Agency, reported that the globe is just undergoing maintenance for marketing strategy.

Rosaly Salazar, SM MOA manager, said they will be releasing a statement for clarification and that there is no security concern involved in the incident.

Salazar said SM MOA management already informed Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano of the incident.

Paday-os said the management must coordinate and there should be police presence in removing the Mall of Asia globe.

They also assured that with their security measures in place, the SM Mall of Asia continues to be a safe space for all.

The reported stolen Mall of Asia globe became a hot social media topic as netizens said the globe was stolen by a helicopter.
