Marcos still leads the survey

The former senator still takes on a very big lead despite of the overwhelming negative publicity thrown against him by the supporters of his rivals

FORMER Philippine senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. continued his run in surveys as the leading presidential candidate.

A recent poll by Pulso ng Pilipinas projects the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer winning the May elections by about 27 million votes.

The Pulso ng Pilipinas poll is a compilation and summation of all Kalye Survey results produced by information and statistical data provider Splat Communications, working jointly with consulting firm Simplified Strategic Solutions.

Splat said the January 1 to 31 survey assumes a voter turnout of 82 percent or 54.94 million voters.

Marcos will get 33,128,820 votes, the group forecast.

The survey had 113,548 respondents, 12.67 percent of which were undecided.

"With a little over three months left before the elections, please be observant and extra vigilant. Expect all the worst imaginable drama, intrigues, downright lies, smear campaigns, and threats against the frontrunner BBM," Splat said.

"All of his opponents will become desperate as election day draws near. Now the disparity is as clear as day. This lead is insurmountable at this stage," it added.

This was the similar trend seen in the past two presidential elections.

In 2016, then Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte had 15,9700,018 votes, giving him a 6,269,636 cushion over Manuel "Mar" Roxas 2nd who garnered 9,700,382 votes.

In 2010, Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino 3rd won over Joseph Estrada by 5,720,841 votes.

Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo will be a distant second with 5,637,638 votes.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, placed third with 4,603,972 votes, followed by Senators Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao (3,483,196) and Panfilo "Ping" Lacson (3,395,476).

Percentage-wise, Marcos will get 60.30 percent of the vote, Robredo 9.77 percent, Domagoso 8.38 percent, Pacquiao 6.34 percent and Lacson, 2.54 percent.
