American man of North Carolina arrested for drowning a baby in a bathtub
Richard Williams is facing charges of intentional child abuse with serious bodily injury and negligent child abuse with serious physical injury

A 39 year old man has been arrested after Farmville Police Department received a call regarding a drowning infant in a bathtub.
The Police Department and Farmville EMS provided life saving measures where the infant was later transported to ECU Health. Farmville Police Department immediately begin their investigation and determined that the infant sustained multiple injuries such as water in their lungs and stomach and a skull fracture.
Once the investigation was complete, warrants were obtained for the following charges on Richard Lee Williams Jr., the father of the child.
Negligent child abuse with serious physical injury
Intentional child abuse with serious physical injury
Williams was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Pitt County Detention Center were under a $200,000. The infant has since been released from ECU Health and is recovering with a family member.
