It is important that everyone should be aware that wearing mask during the Covid-19 pandemic will help to limit the spread of the dreadful virus and shows respect to the people around us. As we struggle to endure through this hellish situation brought by the Coronavirus virus,. It is indeed very disappointing and more frustrating to quite many people are not adhering to the mask ordinance implemented by the national government. In the absence of the police, everytime you go out to buy some necessary stuffs, you see people blatantly not wearing masks and are not even practicing physical distancing despite of the strong encouragement by the authorities. You see people congregating in public places and obviously don't have any facial coverings and even if they do, they're not even wearing it properly. Their noses are exposed.
The Coronavirus doesn't care if you don't believe that wearing mask will help you avoid getting. Once you are exposed and it enters your system through your nostrils, you already have it. And once you have it and you don't wear any protection, you are spreading the virus and placing the people around you at a greater risks. Coronavirus lays in wait to be transferred from one person to another, as the number of asymptomatic people are getting dramatically high, the chances of getting infected by the Covid-19 is based on out activities and behaviors. This is why it's very disappointing you other people venturing out not wearing masks. Let's take the example of the United States. Recently, there has been so many major protests since the so-called stay at home order. There was the anti-lockdown protests by the Trump supporters and now the George Floyd murder protests by the Black lives matter movement. Since the different protests ignited, the Covid-19 cases have skyrocketed to more one million with fatalities of more than 120 thousands. Many of these protesters were seen not adhering to the social distancing guidelines and ignored the wearing of mask ordinance specially among the anti-lockdown protesters. In Hongkong, things turned out different. Despite of the recent protests by the prodemocracy movements against the National Security Law of Beijing, the Covid-19 cases didn't spike and is still relativity low. That is because protesters wore mask. Not only that, wearing masks has become a habit of the people of Hongkong since the Coronavirus outbreak emerged from Wuhan.
Off course we can't wear masks forever or stock ourselves in our homes while the lockdown or quaratine is being carried out. It is highly understood that everyone of us wanted to go back to our normal lives, go back to work, go back to school and explore the world once again. But the question of how long this will go on will depend on our behaviors.
The importance of adhering to the social distancing guidelines, stay at home order and most of all, wearing masks is vital and expedient. According to United States Speaker of the house of the representative Nancy Pelosi, wearing mask will not only protect you but it also protect the people around you. "You wear mask to protect others and others wear masks to protect." Wearing mask is a form mutual respect among people and it is not a form of communist tactics to control the spread of pandemic as the American conspiracy theorists and racists insanely claim. Wearing mask won't take away your freedom or violate your every rights but it will tell the people that you pass on the streets and public places that you respect them.
