At least 18 people who were attending funeral died after a roof that they were sheltering under collapsed due to heave rains on Sunday in New Delhi.
Around 80 mourners have congregated under a shelter at a crematorium in the district of Ghaziabad when the roof collapsed trapping them under the rubble.
Rescuers have to use canine sniffers to find those who have survived under the rubbles and were rushed immediately to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Many were still in critical condition. Senor police officer Ijaj Raja later said that the rescue operation had been completed.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear but authorities said that they will conduct thorough investigation.
