An Alabama WHITE  high school secretary was arrested for having sex with a student — and appeared to grin in her mugshot.

Martha Sasser Pope, 43, was busted Tuesday on a felony charge of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a teen at Elba High School, WTVY reported.

Court documents obtained by the station show the secretary had intercourse and oral sex with the student on Sept. 10. It’s unclear where the alleged sex acts took place. The student was a 16-year-old boy, one source told WDHN.

Pope has been put on administrative leave with pay as an investigation proceeds, the Elba City schools superintendent told the station.

Pope was hired as the high school’s secretary last year and returned in April for the current school year, the Southeast Sun reported. She was held on $5,000 bond and was later released from custody from the Coffee County Jail, the outlet reported.

A message left early Thursday for Pope, of Elba, was not immediately returned. She’s due in court for her initial appearance on Nov. 10, WTVY reported. It’s unclear if she’s hired an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
