Florida drama teacher accused of having sex with 14-year-old student in her car

A WHITE teacher at Hialeah Middle School has been arrested for allegedly having an affair with a 14-year-old former student.

Brittiny Lopez-Murray was booked into jail in Miami-Dade Monday night.

The 31-year-old is facing multiple charges.

According to CBS4 news partners the Miami Herald, the police report said she had multiple sexual encounters with a boy in her car.

Lopez-Murray was Hialeah Middle’s “rookie teacher of the year” in 2017.

The alleged relationship between Brittiny Lopez-Murray, 31, and the 14-year-old student began after the teacher texted the teenager in August about “her feelings for” him, according to a police report obtained by the Miami Herald. Lopez-Murray and the student, who is now in high school, exchanged text messages detailing “how much they enjoyed sex with each other,” the report says.

The teacher would sometimes pick him up after basketball practice and then the two allegedly engaged in sex acts in her car, according to the report. López-Murray has taught at Hialeah Middle for four years and was named “Rookie Teacher of the Year” in 2017. The alleged relationship was discovered Saturday after the student’s sister viewed explicit texts and photos between him and the teacher, according to the report. The boy’s father also found nude photos of López-Murray on his son’s phone, according to the report.
