Michigan authorities arrested a white 19-year-old, Stephen Freeman, after they found a body in the bed of a pickup truck Freeman was driving last week. Following a fender bender in Roseville Michigan, 18 miles north of Detroit, police found the body of 62-year-old Gabrielle Seitz in the bed of a truck Freeman had been driving after he fled the scene of the minor crash.
When police found Seitz, she had a shoelace tied around her neck with signs pointing to strangulation. Freeman was arrested and charged with concealing the death of an individual and receiving and concealing stolen property.
While prosecutors asked for a $250,000 bond Tuesday, the court granted Freeman a $75,000 cash bond. This was partly due to the judge not being able to set the bond based on the shoelace as, at the time, they hadn’t charged Freeman with murder. The charges could change as the investigation is still ongoing and seemingly in its beginning stages.
Investigators have however said that Seitz’s cause of death has yet to be determined. Though the investigation is still ongoing, so police have only provided a few details.
