Fairview man indicted for the murder of his brother-in-law

A Fairview man charged in October with murder had his case bound over the Williamson County Grand Jury after a preliminary hearing in Fairview City Court.

Michael Lee, 53, was charged with one count of Homicide First Degree Murder in the death of his brother-in-law Sean Carr that occurred at their Shayla Court residence on Oct. 22, 2022. Lee’s wife Angeline Lee, 53, was also charged with accessory after the fact.

On Oct. 23, Fairview Police were advised of an altercation that occurred the prior night between Michael Lee and Sean Carr. They were also informed there was a dead body in a freezer at the home.

Police arrived at the home and located the body of Sean Carr in the freezer. The brother of Angelina Lee, Carr was a special needs adult that moved in with the Lee family after the death of his father in August 2020.

In speaking with police, Michael Lee said he “didn’t mean to do it” and said Carr “knew what to do, but just would not do it.” Michael Lee told police he put a ball in a sock and struck Carr until he “went down.” He said he attempted to resuscitate Carr without success and then wrapped Carr’s body in plastic, placing it in the freezer “in an attempt to protect his family.”

After testimony at the preliminary hearing, Michael Lee’s case was bound over to the Grand Jury. His bond was kept at $2,000,000 and he remains incarcerated.

Angeline Lee’s case was bound over to the Grand Jury after she waived her rights to a preliminary hearing in exchange for her bond being reduced from $350,000 to $75,000. Records indicate she is still incarcerated as well.

The Lee’s older son Dennis Lee had his charges of accessory after the fact nolled and was released from the Williamson County Jail.

The Williamson County Grand Jury will review the cases when they convene on Dec. 5.
