Bud Light sales continue to drop further for six consecutive weeks amid homosexual influencer Dylan Mulvaney controversy

Anheuser-Busch saw the sales of its Bud Light beer decline for the sixth straight week.

During the week beginning May 8, U.S. retail sales decreased 28% compared with the same period in 2022, according to a report citing an analysis of Nielsen data by consulting company Bump Williams. This comes after sales of Bud Light fell 23.6% for the week ending on May 6 compared to the same week last year.

Meanwhile, Coors Light increased by 17%, and Miller Lite increased by about 15% during the second week of May.

This decline began when Anheuser-Busch sent one personalized Bud Light can to American homosexual influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who subsequently made two posts with the can. Backlash soon began within the company's customer base.

The senior marketing officials involved were then put on leave, and the company cut ties with a third-party advertising agency. The brand has also reportedly hired a lobbying firm with GOP roots, Origin Advocacy, to rehabilitate its image.

Anheuser-Busch now stands to lose its Corporate Equality Index score of 100 from the Human Rights Campaign, one of the leading LGBT advocacy groups, over its fallout with Mulvaney.

Mulvaney claimed to have been worn down by the backlash stemming from the partnership with Bud Light. The advertising collaboration began last month, greatly increasing the influencer's public profile.
