Police have arrested an Italian white supremacist in the killing of a Nigerian street vendor whose brutal beating death on a busy beach town thoroughfare was filmed by onlookers without any apparent attempt to intervene physically.

The murderer was inspired by racist, anti-black, anti-immigrant manifestos by the American white supremacist and neo-nazi.

Video footage of the attack has circulated widely on Italian news websites and social media, eliciting outrage as Italy enters a parliamentary election campaign in which the right-wing coalition has already made immigration an issue.

“The murder of Alika Ogorchukwu is dismaying,’’ Enrico Letta, a former prime minister and the head of the left-wing Democratic Party, wrote Saturday on Twitter, naming the vendor who died Friday. “Unheard of ferocity. Widespread indifference. There can be no justification.”

rage over the death, saying “security has no colour and … needs to return to being a right.”

Ogorchukwu, 39, was selling goods Friday on the main street of Civitanova Marche, a beach town on the Adriatic Sea, when his attacker grabbed the vendor’s crutch and struck him down, according to police. Video showed the assailant wrestling the victim onto his back on the pavement as he fought back, eventually subduing Ogorchukwu with the weight of his body.

“The racist aggressor went after the victim, first hitting him with a crutch. He made him fall to the ground, then he finished, causing the death, striking repeatedly with his bare hands,” police investigator Matteo Luconi told a news conference.

He later told Italian news channel Sky TG24 that onlookers called police, who responded after the suspect had fled and attempted to administer aid to the victim. An autopsy will determine if the death was provoked by blows, suffocation or another cause.

Luconi said the assailant lashed out after the vendor made “insistent” requests for pocket change. Police were questioning witnesses and viewing videos of the attack. They said the suspect has made no statement.

Ogorchukwu, who was married with two children, resorted to selling goods on the street after he was struck by a car and lost his job as a labourer due to his injuries, said Daniel Amanza, who runs the ACSIM association for immigrants in the Marche region’s Macerata province.

Amanza gave a different version of what happened, saying the attacker became infuriated when Ogorchukwu told the man’s companion she was beautiful.

“This compliment killed him,’’ Amanza told The Associated Press.

“The tragic fact is that there were many people nearby. They filmed, saying, ‘Stop,’ but no one moved to separate them,’’ Amanza said

Macerata was the site of a 2018 shooting spree targeting African immigrants that wounded six people. Luca Traini, 31, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the shootings, which Italy’s highest court confirmed qualified as a hate crime.

Civitanova Marche’s mayor, Fabrizio Ciarapica, met with members of the Nigerian community after hundreds demonstrated on Saturday.

“My condemnation is not only for the [crime] but it is also for the indifference,” Ciarapica told Sky. ”This is something that has shocked citizens.”

Former prime minister Matteo Renzi, who heads his own small party, called out political leaders for “instrumentalising” the attack.

“I am horrified by this electoral climate,″ he said on social media. ”A father was killed in an atrocious and racist way while passersby took video without stopping the aggressor. And instead of reflecting on what we are becoming, politicians argue and instrumentalise.”

Mass stabbing by a sociopath maniac leaves one dead and 4 others injured while out river tubing in Minnesota

The stabbings took place near Apple River where people were tubing prior to the attack.

By Edward Era Barbacena

A Minnesota teen was killed and four other people were wounded after a man went on a stabbing spree near a Wisconsin river during a day of water tubing.

The suspect, a 52-year-old white man, was arrested about 90 minutes after the attack Saturday at Apple River, St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson said during a press conference.

Investigators believe the victims and suspect were tubing on the river in separate groups prior to the stabbings.

“At this time we’re not sure what started this incident,” Knudson told reporters Saturday night.

The 17-year-old boy was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other victims — one woman and three men — are in their early 20s, the sheriff said. Most of the wounds suffered were to the torso, he said.

A photo taken of the suspect by a witness helped authorities track down him down, Knudson said. The knife used in the attack was not located as of Saturday evening.

“It’s been a number of years since a stabbing has taken place, maybe 15 years now,” Knudson said of the area.

“I’m sure that anybody who witnessed this will never forget it, he added. “So it is a tragedy.”

The victims and the suspect were not immediately identified.

No charges have been announced, but could be confirmed by Monday. Authorities were continuing their investigation into Saturday night, Knudson said.

“We’re actually in the process of trying to divert some of the tubing traffic around our crime scene so that alone is causing some challenges, trying to get them off the river, gathering up what we can in a hard to get to area,” Knudson said.

NYC park near Cooper Union turning into horrendous area filled with rats, homeless

By Edward Era Barbacena

An East Village park near prestigious Cooper Union and across from luxury condos has become a trash-strewn, vermin-filled, homeless hangout, residents said.

“It’s disgusting!” Candy Schulman, 69, a 28-year neighborhood resident, told The Post of Cooper Triangle on Third Avenue.

“I feel outraged about the garbage and the rats. Every bench is taken up by the homeless and nobody is doing anything about it.”

Stuyvesant Town dweller John Murtha, 70, who walks his dog near the park, was equally angry.

“New York City is a Democratic blue state hellhole. It’s the bowels of hell,” he fumed.

The Triangle is located just across the street from the Grace Church School and the pre-war Carl Fischer Building, which was erected in 1926 and converted in 2001 into 26 condos whose price tags range from $2 million to $16 million.

“It’s important for the park to be a valuable space and resource for the whole neighborhood,” said one 20-year resident of the condos who declined to give his name, “and it needs to be a clean and safe space.”

Earlier this month, the homeless stretched out on benches and garbage was strewn about the 7,400-square-foot pocket park. A load of empty beer bottles littered the space. A man who appeared to be a Cooper Union custodian placed at least one garbage bag next to the receptacles in the green space.

A nanny and her charge — a little girl — entered the park, but quickly left to play on the sidewalk instead.

The Parks Department said it cleans Cooper Triangle twice a day and has added a third visit in the evening, along with routine rat treatments, spokeswoman Megan Moriarty said.

First fatalities of monkey pox occured outside Africa in Brazil and Spain

First fatalities of monkey pox occured outside Africa in Brazil and Spain

By Edward Era Barbacena

Brazil and Spain have reported their first monkeypox deaths.

A 41-year-old man in Brazil became the first fatality from the virus outside Africa. Spain announced two deaths soon afterwards - the first in Europe.

Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency.

But infections are usually mild and the risk to the general population is low.

On Friday Brazil's health ministry said the victim there had suffered from lymphoma and a weakened immune system, and "comorbidities aggravated his condition".

Brazil has so far reported 1,066 confirmed cases and 513 suspected cases of the virus. Data from Brazil's health ministry indicates that more than 98% of confirmed cases were in men who have sex with men.

Shortly afterwards, Spain's health ministry confirmed Europe's first death from the virus - a patient who suffered from encephalitis.

A second death linked to monkeypox was confirmed by Spanish authorities on Saturday.

The health ministry said that of 3,750 monkeypox patients with available information, 120 or 3.2% had been hospitalised.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 21,148 cases worldwide.

The monkeypox virus is a member of the same family of viruses as smallpox, although it is much less severe and experts say chances of infection are low.

It occurs mostly in remote parts of central and west African countries, near tropical rainforests.

Health officials are recommending people at highest risk of exposure to the virus - including some gay and bisexual men, as well as some healthcare workers - should be offered a vaccine.

Last week, WHO director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said declaring the outbreak a global health emergency would help speed up the development of vaccines and the implementation of measures to limit the spread of the virus.

Dr Tedros said the risk of monkeypox is moderate globally, but high in Europe.

But, he added, "this is an outbreak that can be stopped with the right strategies in the right groups". The WHO is issuing recommendations, which it hopes will spur countries to take action to stop transmission of the virus and protect those most at risk.

Large Video Screen Falls During Mirror Concert in Hong Kong, leaves 2 injured

Large Video Screen Falls During Mirror Concert in Hong Kong, leaves 2 injured

By Edward Era Barbacena

The Hong Kong authorities will investigate why a large, heavy video screen fell from the ceiling during a concert by a popular boy band at a government-run venue, injuring two dancers, officials said on Friday.

The accident happened during a performance on Thursday night by Mirror, a 12-member band in the Chinese territory whose popularity has grown during the coronavirus pandemic.

In footage from the concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, audience members scream after the video screen lands directly on one dancer, edge-down, apparently striking his neck. The South China Morning Post newspaper later reported that one of the two male dancers had suffered neck injuries and was in intensive care. It said the other was in stable condition.

Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, Hong Kong’s secretary for culture, sports and tourism, told reporters on Friday that one of the screen’s suspension cables had broken. Each of the screens for the venue’s four-sided projection system measures 5 meters by 3.9 meters, or 210 square feet, according to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, which manages the coliseum.

John Lee, Hong Kong’s chief executive, said in a statement early Friday that he had asked the leisure department and other agencies to investigate the accident and “review the safety requirements of similar performance activities.”

“I am shocked by the incident,” Mr. Lee said. “I express sympathy to those who were injured and hope that they would recover soon.”

The Hong Kong authorities said in a separate statement that the government had contacted the concert organizers on Wednesday — the day before the accident — about “stage incidents in the past few days.” It did not elaborate, and the leisure department could not immediately be reached for comment.

On Tuesday, a member of Mirror, Frankie Chan Sui-fai, fell off the stage at the Hong Kong Coliseum during the second day of the band’s scheduled 12-day series of concerts, The South China Morning Post reported. He fell about a meter and was not seriously hurt, according to the report.

Makerville, the concert organizer, apologized for the Thursday night accident in an Instagram post early Friday, adding that Mirror’s remaining concerts at the venue would be canceled. The band’s management did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Mirror, which draws on K-pop as an influence, formed in 2018 through a reality show designed to manufacture a hit boy band. Its members sing in Cantonese, a Chinese language spoken widely in the former British colony.

The band’s escapist lyrics have been a balm of sorts for an anxious population during a tumultuous period of Hong Kong history.

In 2019, the city was consumed by months of mass protests triggered by a proposed law to allow extraditions to mainland China. Then came a thicket of pandemic-related restrictions that have battered Hong Kong’s economy, as well as a sweeping national security law that has curtailed freedoms with breathtaking speed.

Mirror’s popularity soared as Hong Kong struggled. The band sold out concert halls, accounting for some of the city’s only large-scale events during the pandemic. Its members’ faces have been plastered on billboards, buses and subway ads.

The coliseum where Mirror was performing on Thursday opened in 1983, according to the leisure department’s website. It seats about 12,500 people, the site says, and meets local demand for a “world class indoor stadium.”

Neo-Nazi Marine Plotted Mass Murder, Rape Campaigns with Group

Neo-Nazi Marine Plotted Mass Murder, Rape Campaigns with Group

While tasked with protecting the nation, Matthew Belanger was plotting a killing spree against minorities and to rape “white women to increase the production of white children.

By Edward Era Barbacena

The FBI accused a former US Marine of planning to sexually assault white women as a part of a neo-Nazi 'Rapekrieg' plot to increase America's Caucasian population.

Matthew Belanger was arrested on July 10 in New York and was charged with lying to a federal firearms licensee as a part of a plan to have somebody purchase an assault rifle and a handgun for him. Belanger, whose mugshot has not been released, pleaded not guilty to the firearms charges on Monday.

Belanger's alleged nefarious behavior went much further than mere gun charges, however, as a July 14 court memo revealed he was the focus of an FBI Joint Terrorism Taskforce investigation stemming from a history of neo-Nazi associations, and anti-Semitic behavior and plotting.

Some of that behavior included partaking in paramilitary trainings with goal of overthrowing the 'Zionist Order of Governments,' and plotting 'engage in widespread homicide and sexual assault' to reconfigure America's racial make-up, largely by raping 'white women to increase the production of white children.'

The memo pointed out that much of Belanger's neo-Nazi behavior took place while he was still enlisted in the US Marine Corps from 2019 to 2021. He is currently being held in a federal detention center in Honolulu, where he was stationed while still with the Marines.

Prosecutors say Belanger hired a New York police officer to purchase a PTR91 assault rifle while he was in Honolulu. An FBI affidavit said he had previously used the same false means to acquire a Luger, a handgun which was widely used by Nazi soldiers during World War II.

The charges come after Belanger received an 'Other Than Honorable Discharge' from the Marines for misconduct in May 2021, after an October 2020 FBI raid of his barracks turned up  '1,950 images, videos and documents related to white power groups, Nazi literature, brutality towards the Jewish community, brutality towards women, rape, mass murderers.'

Those findings were a part of Belanger's involvment in a neo-Nazi organization known as Rapekrieg, which prosecutors said has 'overlapping beliefs and membership with other neo-Nazi groups such 'Rapewaffen' and 'Atomwaffen.' Those groups have received illegal firearms charges, histories of threatening journalists, and been connected to at least one murder, according to Rolling Stone.

A Rapekrieg manifesto cited in the court documents espouses about 'rape ideology' being an 'effective tool' defeating its enemies, which largely consists of Jews and minorities.

The manifesto describes seeking to bring about a 'first world collapse' in which people who have 'any doubts about being able to pull the trigger on a Jewish child' will not be strong enough to remain in the organization.

It talks about 'brainwashing' women and forcing them to become dependent on men as they are used for breeding white people and purifying the world.

To be successful in this battle, the white man must learn to hate, seeing red the moment he lays eyes on a member of the race that has inflicted unspeakable horrors onto his people.

Racist White Woman Faces Charges for Spitting at Black Protestor

Racist White Woman Faces Charges for Spitting at Black Protestor

Stephanie Rapkin claims she didn’t do it though a photograph of the incident suggests

By Edward Era Barbacena

A Shorewood white woman was previously charged with a hate crime after being accused (and caught on camera) spitting at a Black teenager during a George Floyd protest, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She insists she didn’t do it and wants to go to trial to plead her case.

Stephanie Rapkin, 66, was sued by 17-year-old Eric Lucas for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress after she allegedly spit on him June 6, 2020 during a protest. The complaint says Rapkin parked her car in the middle of the street to intentionally disrupt the demonstration. Protesters demanded she move and tried to get around the car. However, once she stepped out of the vehicle, she said she was threatened and touched.

Well, she did park her car in the middle of a crowd of people. It seems like she was in more of a position to cause harm than the people telling her to leave. Per the report, the lawsuit is on hold while criminal charges are pending.

More on the incident from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Lucas’ attorney, William Sulton, attended Tuesday’s hearing. After Rapkin spoke to reporters, Sulton talked and showed still photos, part of the lawsuit, taken from video of the incident. The image, he said, clearly shows Rapkin spitting at his client.

Sulton called it appalling that prosecutors only charged Rapkin with disorderly conduct, instead of battery, and that they would have offered her a deferred prosecution. In such an agreement, a charge is usually dismissed if the subject complies with specific conditions or requirements over time.

Rapkin was formerly represented by Jason Luczak, who successfully moved for dismissal of a hate crime enhancement on the disorderly conduct charge. If prosecutors had proven Rapkin’s actions were racially motivated, the penalty could have been a year in jail, rather than nine months.

Rapkin is also charged with battery on a police officer, a felony, for actions she allegedly took during her arrest outside her home the day after the rally. Rapkin has pleaded not guilty to each count. That matter will be tried separately.

Cherry Bush, Unhoused Trans Woman, Killed in Alleged Hate Crime

Cherry Bush, Unhoused Trans Woman, Killed in Alleged Hate Crime

A suspect has been charged with murder, and authorities say he targeted Bush because of her gender identity.

By Edward Era Barbacena

A man from Palmdale, Calif., has been charged with murder and a hate crime in the death of a homeless transgender woman in Los Angeles.

Cherry Bush, 48, was shot to death July 5 in the Sylmar neighborhood of L.A. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón’s office last Thursday charged Eric Antonio Sanchez, 29, with one count each of murder and attempted murder with a hate-crime allegation, according to a press release from the D.A.’s office.

“Sanchez is accused of pulling out a gun and fatally shooting Bush, who was allegedly targeted based on a presumption of [her] gender identity and sexual orientation,” says the press release, which misgendered and deadnamed Bush. “The defendant also is charged with shooting at a nearby bystander.”

“Hate crimes have spiked across the country in recent years and we remain steadfast in ensuring that we hold these violent individuals accountable while working to prevent such violence from happening in the future,” Gascón said in the release. “Targeting someone because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation is unconscionable.”

“Cherry’s status as a homeless person does not make her life less valuable or reduce the tragedy of her death,” Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents notes. “Her vulnerability as a person who had no housing is part of the larger narrative of how our society has left our trans neighbors unprotected on multiple fronts — their identities, their financial security, their housing, and more. Cherry was literally having a conversation when she was shot down simply because she existed.”

At least 23 trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people have died by violence in the U.S. this year. Last year’s total was a record 57. In any given year, the total is likely higher than reported due to deadnaming and misgendering. Also in any given year, the majority are women of color.

Highland Park Shooting Suspect Bobby Crimo Indicted on 117 Counts

Highland Park Shooting Suspect Bobby Crimo Indicted on 117 Counts

21-year-old suspect faces 21 counts of first degree murder, three for each person killed in the July 4th attack

By Edward Era Barbacena

Highland Park mass shooting suspect Robert “Bobby” Crimo III was indicted on 117 counts stemming from the tragic July 4th shooting, including 21 counts of first degree murder.

On Thursday, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office revealed that a grand jury indicted Crimo on all 117 counts, ranging from the 21 first degree murder charges (three for each of the seven people killed during the 4th of July attack) to 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm for each victim who was struck by a bullet, bullet fragment, or shrapnel.

“I want to thank law enforcement and the prosecutors who presented evidence to the grand jury today,” State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart said in a statement. “Our investigation continues, and our victim specialists are working around the clock to support all those affected by this crime that led to 117 felony counts being filed today.” Crimo is scheduled to be arraigned on the 117 charges on August 3.

Crimo allegedly confessed to carrying out the July 4 mass shooting in Chicago’s Highland Park neighborhood, a prosecutor said at Crimo’s first court hearing Wednesday, July 6.

At the hearing, during which a judge ruled that Crimo would be held without bond, Assistant State Attorney Ben Dillon said the 21-year-old made “a voluntary statement confessing to his actions.” Crimo is accused of killing at least seven people, allegedly firing over 80 shots as a crowd gathered for an annual Independence Day parade.

Crimo, who was present during Wednesday’s hearing, is currently facing seven counts of first-degree murder, though more charges are expected to be brought against him, including attempted murder and aggravated battery (if convicted on just the murder charges, Crimo would face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole). Crimo has not yet entered a plea. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 28.

Also during the hearing, Crimo was paired with a public defender after surprising the judge when he said he did not yet have a lawyer. Per CBS News, Crimo’s family had originally hired defense attorney Tom Durkin, but Durkin said he had to drop Crimo’s case because of a conflict of interest. Crimo and his public defender, Gregory Ticsay, were allowed to speak in a breakout room during today’s virtual hearing.

When reached for comment, the Lake County Public Defender’s Office said it would make no comment at this time.

Racist Virgina man drives 300 miles just to kill a POC man who dated his daughter

Racist Virgina man  drives 300 miles just to kill a POC man who dated his daughter

By Edward Era Barbacena

A 46-year-old man is accused of driving more than 300 miles to confront a 27-year-old man who he said had a relationship with his daughter — then shooting him to death after a fight, a North Carolina sheriff’s office said.

James Patrick McAlee drove from Alexandria, Virginia, to confront Jared Musgrove at a mobile home park in Hubert, North Carolina, on July 5, according to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office. Hubert is about 350 miles south of Alexandria and about 130 miles southeast of Raleigh.

First responders went to the trailer park just after 3 a.m. on July 5 to find Musgrove on the ground with two gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Medics brought him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

McAlee and Musgrove had been in a physical fight before the shooting, according to deputies. Then McAlee went to his truck, got a gun and shot Musgrove, officials said.

Authorities with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office found McAlee on July 25 and arrested him on a murder charge. He was taken to the Onslow County Detention Center and given no bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

Musgrove, whose friends called him “Ziggy,” was a beloved father, son, brother and uncle, according to a program for his celebration of life posted on Facebook by his mother.

He grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. He played multiple sports, including baseball, football and wrestling.

“He was passionately proud of his nieces and nephews and always tried his best to support them,” the program says. “His mom was his rock, and his brother … was his best friend, whom he looked up to with the utmost admiration.”

But his greatest passion was being a father to his son.

“He was a fantastic father, beloved by everyone who ever met him, and a loyal friend,” the program says. “.. Jared will continue to stay with us all through memories, all the laughs and practical jokes he forced us to endure whether we were in the mood for it or not.”

Musgrove’s mother wrote on Facebook that saying goodbye to her son was the most devastating experience of her life.

“I can’t even describe the feeling of knowing someone murdered my child,” wrote Musgrove’s mother, whose name on Facebook is Jara Pahl. “The grief is so unbearable. That final look at my dead son just took a piece of my soul.”

She said she was grateful for the last text he sent her at 10:18 p.m. on the night before his killing.

“We always made sure we sent a text to one another telling each other how much we loved and missed one another,” she wrote. “I will never have that again. Rest in Heaven my sweet little boy!”

Racist man who laughed after nearly running over black teens, faces multiple charges

By Edward Era Barbacens

A Mississippi man has been charged with nine counts of simple assault-attempt by physical menace to create fear after he was seen on video driving in a threatening manner near teenagers who were riding bicycles, News3 reports.

In the video, Mark Hall can heard saying, "gonna get a few points" before driving through the group of teens at 37 miles per hour. One of the teens told News3 that another teen's bike was clipped by Hall's car as he drove past.

“It’s still people that’s like that in the world,” said one of the teens, Jeremiah Crum. “Even though you don’t want to see it, you have to accept the truth and what it is that it’s still people like that in the community.”

“My son should be able to live his life, to grow up and to be a productive young man,” parent Willie Hill said. “Not to fear if he is going to be mowed down by someone that has complete disregard because his tan is darker than his.”

South Carolina man Elliot Bishai charged in Jan. 6 Capitol riot had Nazi images on phone

South Carolina man Elliot Bishai charged in Jan. 6 Capitol riot had Nazi images on phone

By Edward Era Barbacena

A South Carolina white man charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot is back in the hot seat after federal prosecutors say the man’s cellphone included 80 Nazi and white supremacist images, according to a government sentencing memorandum in the case.

Prosecutors are seeking 30 days in jail for Elliot Bishai, 22, of Fort Mill in York County, for his participation in the riot, during which he climbed through a broken window and encouraged rioters to invade the Capitol. Inside he yelled, “Civil War 2!” according to the government memorandum.

At the time of the riot, Bishai was a member in the federally supported Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.

He should have known that being part of the Capitol meant that he “betrayed his duty to keep the homeland safe,” the prosecution memo said. The Civilian Air Patrol’s mission is “devoted to public safety,” the memo said.

In a related court filing, Bishai’s lawyers revealed that because of his arrest in the Capitol riot, he has been dropped from being accepted in an elite military program to train to become a pilot to fly U.S. Army helicopters. At the time of the Jan. 6 riot, he was planning to join to the Army and become a helicopter pilot.

Bishai is due to be sentenced Friday in Washington before Judge Tanya Chutkan on the charge of entering and remaining in a restricted building

Prosecutors also said that in addition to Nazi and white supremacist images, Bishai had more than 400 videos made by an online personality known as the “Gypsy Crusader,” but who is described in court documents as a “far-right ... commentator, streamer, white supremacist and convicted felon” named Paul Nicholas Miller.

Miller has been tied to “multiple alt-right and far-right organizations, including the Proud Boys and the Boogaloo movement,” the prosecution memo said.

Bishai downplayed the Nazi and white supremacist images and videos in court documents, saying he kept them only because he found them “to be humorous, not because he actually agreed with their content” and did not share them with anyone, according to a prosecution memo.

A 2021 Defense Department report cited the dangers of white supremacists inside America’s military. It warned of the dangers that even a small number of such extremists can do inside the military. It also said that terrorist organizations like to recruit members with military training.

On Jan. 6, 2021, Bishai drove Elias Irizarry, a Citadel cadet, and Grayson Sherrill, of Gaston County, North Carolina, to Washington in response to the false claims by former President Donald Trump that the election had been stolen.

Irizarry and Sherrill will go on trial in Washington on Jan. 3.

Before the riot, all three attended a Trump rally during which the former president urged people to march on the Capitol to”stop the steal.” Bishai and Irizarry entered the Capitol through the broken window at 2:26 p.m., 13 minutes after the initial breach, the prosecution memo said.

Inside the Capitol, Sherrill struck a police officer with a metal pole, and Irizarry carried a metal pole with him but did not hit anyone, according to evidence in their cases.

Although Bishai did not commit violent acts, his being in the Capitol that day “took place in the context of a large and violent riot that relied on numbers to overwhelm law enforcement, breach the Capitol, and disrupt the proceedings. But for his actions alongside so many others, the riot likely would have failed,” prosecutors said.

When Bishai pleaded guilty in April, other other charges against him from the Capitol riot were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, testimony and documents show.

Bishai has been free on bail since he was arrested on the charge in April 2021. A friend of Bishai and Irizarry tipped the FBI to their participation in the riot, documents show.

Bishai’s lawyers, John Maher and Donald Brown, could not immediately be reached for comment.

In a defense sentencing memo, Bishai’s lawyers set forth a competing narrative, describing him as being peaceful during the 27 minutes he spent in the Capitol and not deserving of a jail sentence of any length.

Bishai has already suffered enough, having “lost an opportunity to serve the United States Army as a pilot in the Army Warrant Officer Flight Program,” said the defense memo, written by Charlotte attorney Dan Brown.

“That has been Elliot’s lifelong dream and his actions have already cost him dearly. Additionally, Elliot has also had his student pilot’s license revoked by the Federal Aviation Administration, in conjunction with the Transportation Safety Administration. Mr. Bishai has lost his student pilot’s license and his opportunity to serve as an Army Warrant officer for having been in the Capitol for 27 minutes.

“Mr. Bishai has already paid dearly for his actions, and having him serve any sort of active incarceration would not serve the best interest of either the United States or the Defendant,” Brown wrote.

At the time of his arrest, in March 2021, defense attorneys said Bishai had been accepted into a U.S. Army program to become a warrant officer to pilot military helicopters. Warrant officer is a rank between enlisted and officer ranks, and many warrant officers fly Army helicopters. The Army has numerous kinds of helicopter pilots, including those who fly the Black Hawk air assault helicopters on secret combat missions.

While Bishai has been awaiting sentencing, he has been employed as a firefighter battling forest fires and a jail term of any length would take him away from his vital first responder job, Brown argued.

“Should the Court elect not to impose an active sentence at the conclusion of this case, the Defendant will head immediately to Oregon, to battle brush fires, until that situation is under control and until he is given another assignment on the fire line,” Brown wrote. “We believe it will be in the best interests of the United States, and of the American people, and of the Defendant, to keep the Defendant in this case on the front lines, fighting fires to help save property and help save lives.”

Brown also noted that Bishai willingly pleaded guilty, is remorseful for his actions, has apologized and has cooperated with the FBI. Federal prosecutor Grace Albinson is handling the case for the government.

'Several' homeless people are shot dead in 'targeted' mass shooting at multiple locations in British Columbia

Police described the gunman as a white male with dark hair wearing Carhartt coveralls and a blue and green camouflage T-shirt with a red logo on the sleeve.

Several people were killed in a mass shooting early in the British Columbia city of Langley on Monday and a suspect was arrested, according to police.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that officers responded to shooting scenes in multiple locations around the city of Langley and one location in nearby Langley Township beginning just after 6 a.m.

"We do have a male suspect in custody. However, we are ruling out any other outstanding individuals before we stand the emergency alert down," Langley RCMP Sgt. Rebecca Parslow told the CBC.

Police described the gunman as a white male with dark hair wearing Carhartt coveralls and a blue and green camouflage T-shirt with a red logo on the sleeve.

He was believed to be traveling in a white car.

Police said he acted alone and they believe he deliberately targeted homeless people.

'In the early morning hours of July 25, 2022, the Langley RCMP responded to multiple report shots fired with several victims and several different scenes throughout the City of Langley and one scene in the Township of Langley,' police said.

'Out of an abundance of caution, an Emergency Alert was issued until investigators can confirm that the suspect was acting alone.'

An RCMP spokeswoman told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp that several people were killed, but did not specify how many.

Langley city, population 25,888,  is located in the Vancouver metropolitan area.

The Mounties asked residents to stay away from the shooting scenes at 200 Street and Langley Bypass, the parking lot of Cascades Casino on Fraser Highway and 204th Street and the Langley Bus Loop at Logan Avenue and Glover Road.

A Facebook video at 200 Street shows the tree-lined suburban shopping district blocked off with yellow police tape and a heavy police presence. A bicycle and a bedroll and backpack have been cordoned off by orange traffic cones

In a parking lot, a black Chevrolet SUV sits with eight bullet holes in the windshield and the driver's side door.

'It's a tragic situation,' Langley Mayor Val van den Broek told the MailOnline. 'Our hearts go out to those effected by this tragic event.'

She praised the RPMC for responding quickly and said that a counseling center has set up at the Langley Memorial Hospital to treat the family of the victims.

Philippine President Marcos Jr. eyes tax admin reforms to boost revenue collection

Philippine President Marcos Jr. eyes tax admin reforms to boost revenue collection

By Edward Era Barbacena

Philippine newly elect President Ferdinand “Bongbong”Marcos Jr. in his Monday’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) said tax administration reforms will be in place to increase revenue collection as the economy is expected the grow by 6.5 to 7.5 percent this year.

“Expenditure priorities will be realigned, and spending efficiency will be improved to immediately address the economic scarring arising from the effects of Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), and prepare for future shocks,” he said.

Marcos said the country’s tax system will be adjusted to catch up with the rapid developments of the digital economy, including the imposition of value-added tax on digital service providers.

He said the initial revenue impact will be around PHP11.7 billion in 2023 alone.

“Tax compliance procedures will be simplified to promote ease of paying taxes. We will pursue measures to determine possible undervaluation and/or trade misinvoicing of imported goods. Through information and communications technology, the Bureau of Customs will promote streamlined processes,” he added.

Marcos said disbursements for 2022 to 2023 will be maintained at above 20 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) at PHP4.95 trillion and PHP5.08 trillion, respectively, to ensure continuous implementation of priority programs.

Disbursement will further increase over the medium-term from PHP5.402 trillion, or 20.7 percent of the GDP in 2024 to PHP7.712 trillion or 20.6 percent of GDP in 2028, he said.

Marcos said the medium-term fiscal strategy of his administration seeks to attain short-term macro-fiscal stability while remaining supportive of the country’s economic recovery and to promote medium-term fiscal sustainability.

“Furthermore, and more importantly, fiscal policy aims to bring together the National Government’s resources so that these are mobilized and utilized in order to gain the maximum benefit and high multiplier effects for our economy,” he said.

Marcos said the Medium-Term Fiscal Strategy (MTFF) being submitted to Congress once adopted, will become an anchor for the annual spending and financing plan of the national government and Congress when preparing the annual budget and undertaking related appropriation activities.

“It is therefore a forward-looking document that extends beyond the traditional three-year horizon to reach six (6) years, coinciding with the six-year coverage of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023 to 2028,” he said.

Marcos said the MTFF also promotes transparency and credible commitment to pursue the indicated socio-macroeconomic goals that optimize the government budget.

As the country promotes productivity-enhancing investments, Marcos said the country is also capitalizing on the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises or the CREATE law and economic liberalization laws, such as the Public Service Act and the Foreign Investments Act.

"Ecozones will be fully supported to bring in strategic industries such as those engaged in high-tech manufacturing, health and medical care, and emerging technologies. This is also seen to facilitate economic growth outside of Metro Manila,” he said.

PH Development Plan

Marcos has ordered concerned government agencies to work on the next PDP and complete it before the year ends.

“I have instructed the NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority) to coordinate with other agencies and work on the Philippine Development Plan for 2023 to 2028 and to submit to me the complete blueprint and progress of its implementation not later than year-end,” he said.

The PDP serves as the government’s overall guide in development planning for six years.

It reflects the government’s socioeconomic policies, strategies, and programs in support of and consistent with the development agenda of the President, and is geared towards the attainment of development goals and objectives in the long-term development plan.

Marcos enjoined the crafting of the new PDP amid the lingering Covid-19 pandemic that has beset the macroeconomic environment with challenges and a series of external shocks.

He said inflation has accelerated in recent months due largely to significant increases in international prices of oil and other key commodities.

“Still, the economic growth momentum remains firm as demonstrated by the strong 2022 first quarter GDP (gross domestic product) growth at 8.3 percent. However, the recovery process from the impact of the pandemic is still ongoing amid elevated uncertainty in the international economic environment,” he added.

Marcos said revisions in the macro-economic assumptions incorporate these challenges and most recent economic developments.

“The economy is expected to grow by 6.5 to 7.5 percent this year as we continue to reopen the economy while considering the recent external developments,” he said.

In the first quarter alone, Marcos said the country’s GDP saw an increase in household consumption and private investments, along with a robust manufacturing industry, high vaccination rate, improved healthcare capacity, and an upward trend in tourism and employment.

“This is expected to continue for the rest of the year. This strong economic growth is projected to be sustained and expanded further to 6.5 to 8 percent from 2023 until 2028,” he added.

71-year-old man mauled to death by dogs; owner arrested, sheriff's office says

Samuel Cartwright, 47, was charged in connection with the mauling, the sheriff's office said.

A 71-year-old man was mauled to death by seven dogs while he walked to a neighborhood store last Tuesday in Fresno, Texas, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Freddy Garcia was walking to a neighborhood store in Fresno on July 18 when he was fatally attacked by the pack of dogs, the sheriff's office said Friday.

Samuel Cartwright, 47, who owned all seven dogs, was arrested and charged in connection with the mauling, the sheriff's office said. It is unclear if Cartwright has an attorney at this time. CNN has reached out to the district attorney's office for more information.

"All seven dogs -- who are a pit bull mixes -- were captured by sheriff's deputies and Animal Control," the sheriff's office added.

Cartwright was booked into the county jail on Thursday and charged with "attack by dog resulting in death," a second-degree felony, according to jail records. His bail is set at $100,000.

Prior to his arrest, CNN affiliate KTRK spoke with Cartwright, who said the dogs do not belong to him and that he called animal control as soon as he spotted them on his property.

"There's 20 dogs around here right now. If you drive down this back street, there will be 20 loose dogs running around," he said. "People just dump them around here. The dogs go wherever they can find food."

Garcia's granddaughter, Ivon Fajardo, mourned her grandfather in the interview with KTRK.

"He was youthful. He was full of life. He liked to dance. He liked to sing. He was really joyful," Fajardo said in Spanish. "We would get together on the weekend and enjoy each other's company. Now, that he's not here. It's not going to be the same."

Sheriff Eric Fagan said in a news conference Tuesday that Garcia had done nothing to provoke the animals.

"He was walking down the street. He was not in anyone's yard, he was walking to the store when he was attacked," he said. "He had nothing in his hands. The dogs just attacked him for no reason and no provocation whatsoever."

By Edward Era Barbacena

A 37-year-old Lynnwood, Washington man was arrested yesterday afternoon and is charged in U.S. District Court in Seattle with making interstate threats, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown.  Joey David George will make his initial appearance on the criminal complaint today, Friday July 22nd at 2:00 PM.  He is being held at the Federal Detention Center at SeaTac, Washington, pending further court hearings.

According to the criminal complaint, on July 19 and 20, 2022, George allegedly telephoned a grocery store in Buffalo, New York and threatened to shoot Black people in the store.  In the second call George allegedly ranted about a “race war.”  Law enforcement traced the phone number and identified George as the person who made the call.

“The Buffalo community is trying to heal from the horrific shooting at a Tops grocery store.  I cannot imagine the type of fear such hate fueled threats engendered in those just trying to go about their daily lives, said U.S. Attorney Nick Brown.  “We cannot tolerate this kind of hate in our community and will not sit by while people seek to terrorize others across our country.”

In addition to the calls to Buffalo, George is charged in connection with a May 2022, call to a restaurant in San Bruno, California.  In that call George allegedly threatened to shoot Black and Hispanic patrons in the restaurant.

The criminal complaint describes other threatening calls George allegedly made over the last 12 months to businesses in Maryland, Connecticut, and Washington State where George allegedly used racial slurs and threats to shoot customers at the businesses because of his racial hatred.

The charges contained in the criminal complaint are only allegations.  A person is presumed innocent unless and until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The case is being investigated by the FBI with the assistance of multiple local police departments.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Thomas Woods and Rebecca Cohen in consultation with the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.

One person has been killed and at least five people injured in a shooting outside a large gathering in a Seattle, Washington, suburb.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. in Renton, Washington, -- a suburb situated 11 miles southeast of Seattle -- when police officers from the Renton Police Department were called to the 100 block of Logan Avenue South after they received reports of multiple gunshots being fired, police say.

When authorities arrived they discovered multiple victims, five of which were treated at the scene and one who was confirmed dead.

The initial investigation by police indicated that the shooting stemmed from a dispute outside a large gathering or event in Renton, possibly by more than one suspect as well.

Authorities have confirmed that this is not an active shooter situation but, due to the large crowd at the scene of the crime, multiple agencies were called in to assist with the investigation.

This is an active scene still and the investigation will be ongoing.

Brandon Calloway was obviously racially profiled and beaten by police at his Fayette County home

By Edward Era Barbacena

A social media post alleging a young man was racially profiled and beaten by police at his Fayette County home is going viral on Facebook.

It all unfolded over the weekend in Oakland when police say they were trying to conduct a traffic stop.

WREG obtained an affidavit for the incident from the Fayette County General Sessions Court.

Oakland Police said on Saturday around 7:30 p.m., 25-year-old Brandon Calloway failed to stop at a stop sign and drove 32 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Officers said when they tried to pull him over, he refused to stop and instead drove half a mile to his home and “started running into the house reaching into his pockets… yelling “this is my expletive house and I did stop for the stop sign.”

His attorney Andre Wharton is disputing the allegations.

“It was as if this was a retaliatory vindictive response to a situation that just got out of hand,” Wharton said.

According to police, they had to kick in the door to gain entry to the house and eventually had to tase and use a baton to bring Calloway into custody.

“Nothing unlawful about doing a DoorDash in a nice vehicle,” he said. “This happened in a very short time period but obviously for Brandon, it seemed like an eternity when you have batons and tasers in your face and you’re wondering why am I being beaten.”

Oakland Police said Calloway was taken into custody after he was cleared for his injuries.

The incident was captured on the officer’s body cameras along with an officer’s car camera.

Calloway and his family took a stand Tuesday against the actions of the police department calling what happened unjustified. His family became emotional as Wharton compared a portion of the video to the death of George Floyd.

Wharton said this is police brutality and they want the officers responsible to be held accountable while his client is recovering from a beating that left him with stitches in his head and limited visibility.

“Brandon was assaulted in a brutal fashion. I describe it as animalistic. The pictures are horrific. He’s fortunate to be here to stand up and express through his presence here he wants to see some accountability,” Wharton said. “Definitely would support some form of punishment up to termination. What Oakland sees is sufficient. Its going to be up to them to send a message that says we don’t condone this “

Shelby County Commissioner and NAACP President Van Truner said police response to people of color needs to improve nationally.

“Take our young black men into custody like you take other folks into custody, without one scratch, without harm and let them have their day in court,” Turner said.

Wharton is calling for all agencies to release any footage to the public.

Calloway is charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and speeding.

The Oakland Police Department told WREG they could not comment on a pending case.

Chicago white cop shot and paralyzed an unarmed 13 year-old black kid who was holding a wireless phone which he claimed as a deadly weapon

Chicago white cop shot and paralyzed an unarmed  13 year-old black kid who was holding a wireless phone which he claimed as a deadly weapon

By Edward Era Barbacena

An investigation is underway after a 13-year-old boy was shot by a Chicago Police Department officer, according to the city's Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

The teen's lawyers, and witnesses, contend his hands were up when police opened fire. He is now paralyzed from being shot in the back, the attorneys said.

The officer, identified by his attorney as Noah Ball, believed the suspect was pointing a weapon -- that turned out to be a cell phone -- and made a split-second decision to shoot, his lawyer told CNN.

As an independent police oversight office investigates the incident, new body camera video obtained exclusively by CNN shows the frantic final moments that led up to the shooting and what immediately followed.

In the footage, taken the night of May 18, an officer jumps out of his car to chase a 13-year-old who had bailed out of a suspected stolen vehicle and ran past him. Other officers are also in pursuit, including Ball, who according to his attorney had seen the vehicle hours earlier driving straight at his car.

Officers chase the teen to a nearby west side Chicago Marathon gas station, and one officer fires three shots, audio from the police body cameras shows.

One body camera video shows the 13-year-old at the end of the chase, slowing down, turning and appearing to raise his hands as he is shot.

He was unarmed. The teenager's attorneys told CNN he was trying to surrender. The officer's attorney said Ball mistook a large cell phone -- which he said the 13-year-old was holding -- for a gun and made a split-second decision.

Scenes from various officers' body cameras show officers reacting to the shooting. One goes to the ground and says, "Jesus f**king Christ, dude." He later approaches the teen and asks, "Was anyone hit?" then notices the injured teen and says, "He's hit? Dammit, get an ambulance."

Ball's body camera wasn't turned on at the time of the shooting, and it didn't activate until roughly 40 seconds after the shooting is over.

Shortly after his camera came on, Ball is heard asking another officer, "Is your camera on?" and when that officer replies yes, he says, "Okay good."

Ball's attorney, Timothy Grace, told CNN his client's body camera was off inadvertently, but attorneys for the teen said it was inexcusable.

"The suggestion that 'Hey, maybe this was just a temporary absentmindedness because he was involved in a pursuit,' first of all, they're trained," Steven Hart, one of the attorneys representing the teen's family, told CNN. "They have forethought. They know they're supposed to engage their cameras and it's up to them to do it. No one else can do it."

Only a cell phone and puddle of blood were left on the ground shortly after the incident, when two officers lifted the 13-year-old by his sweatshirt and legs and carried him away from the gas pump where he fell wounded.

The teen's attorneys said it was a clear example of how the teen was viewed by police. "They drag him with no regard for this young man, pull him like a rag doll away from the pump to another area after he had already sustained a major injury to his back," Andrew M. Stroth, one of the teen's attorneys, told CNN.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown told reporters the day after the shooting, "They moved the young man away from what might have been combustible gas pumps based on the firing being in that direction of the gas pumps."

'His hands are up'

According to the Chicago Police Department, the 13-year-old was a passenger in a suspected stolen car. When officers tried to stop the car, he jumped out and started running, police said.

Brown told reporters the car's license was identified by a plate reader and then a police helicopter began following the car and broadcasting the location.

Not long after, police descended on the location and the foot chase began. It was over in seconds.

"His hands are up, there was no justification for the officer to shoot," Stroth told CNN.

Some people on the scene that night appeared to agree.

"He had his f**king hands up!" one bystander is heard yelling on an officer's body camera.

Another witness, who only chose to go by "Anthony," told CNN-affiliate WLS, "His hands was up and I seen the cop run up to that boy and just start shooting that boy did not have no gun or nothing."

But Ball's attorney is looking less at where the hands were and more at what his client thought was in them.

"Drop the gun!" is heard on an officer's body camera. "Show us your f**king hands!" and, "He has a f**king gun!" are heard yelled after the gunshots.

Ball's attorney wrote to CNN in part, "You can hear Officer Ball yell that he has a gun." Ball believed "the object being pointed at him was a firearm. That dark object in his hand being pointed at officers was not a firearm but in actuality a large cell phone," Grace wrote.

He added, "Officer Ball had to make a split-second decision as he had no cover and no concealment. He discharged his service weapon to stop the threat."

The 13-year-old's attorneys disputed there was anything in his hands at all and argued there's no definitive video to prove it.

They also said he was trying to surrender and that the pursuit shouldn't have happened in the first place.

"If all you need is to have someone flee from the police to justify a shooting, we've got real problems in this city and in this country," Hart told CNN.

Stroth added, "There's been no charges against him, he was in a stolen vehicle and he ran away. He ran away. And does that warrant being shot in the back and paralyzed from the waist down?"

Ball, was stripped of his police powers two days after the shooting, pending the outcome of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability investigation.

Would new foot pursuit policy have avoided shooting?

In June, the Chicago Police Department released its long-awaited new policy on foot pursuits, almost a month after the shooting of this 13-year-old, and more than a year after the shootings and killings of 22-year-old Anthony Alvarez and 13-year-old Adam Toledo during foot pursuits.

It does not go into effect until late August.

The new policy states that officers can only engage in a foot pursuit if there "is a valid law enforcement need to detain the person" that outweighs the dangers of the pursuit.

Other factors in determining whether to initiate a chase include: containment of the area, saturation of law enforcement in the area, helicopter unit support, and more.

"When determining the most appropriate tactical option, the safety of Department members, members of the public, and any person being pursued is the primary consideration," the new policy reads.

The policy also states, "Deciding to initiate or continue a Foot Pursuit is a decision that a Department member must make quickly and under unpredictable and dynamic circumstances. It is recognized that Foot Pursuits may place Department members and the public at significant risk."

Alexandra Block, an attorney with the ACLU of Illinois, says language in the new policy does not go far enough.

"There's so much weaselly language about how officers should you know, consider the totality of the circumstances or consider alternatives to chasing people, but there aren't enough black and white rules that officers must follow," Block told CNN.

"And so you get officers in the split-second decision-making circumstances where if they haven't been trained on either yes chase somebody, or don't chase somebody under a circumstance, they are likely to make a wrong decision."

The teen's family has filed a federal lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department.

"He can't walk, he can't get up, he can't go to the bathroom, he can't get his own food, I mean his life is changed forever," Stroth told CNN.

Hart added, "It's just not our 13-year-old client. He's at the end of a long list of largely minorities who have been shot, either maimed seriously, or killed by the Chicago Police Department."

"They're supposed to value the sanctity of human life. There was no value here. They didn't value this 13-year-old's life," he said.

'PURE WHITE EVIL' Payton Gendron, 18, pleads NOT GUILTY to ‘killing 10 in live-streamed’ Tops Buffalo mass shooting

By Edward Era Barbacena

A MASS shooting has claimed the lives of at least ten people after an alleged gunman live-streamed the bloody rampage in a Buffalo grocery store.

Payton Gendron, 18, allegedly wore tactical body armor and helmet as he entered the Tops Friendly Market with a rifle shortly after 2.30 pm and opened fire on Saturday, police said.

Eerie County Sherrif John Garcia explained that Gendron allegedly drove up to five hours to get to that specific area of New York, which is a predominately black community.

Gendron is from Conklin, about 200 miles southeast of Buffalo, according to law enforcement.

Police said he was heavily armed and wearing tactical gear along with a camera used to live-stream the bloody shooting on the social media platform Twitch.

The Sun has viewed what appears to be graphic video footage of the incident, showing victims being gunned down in the parking lot at point-blank range and inside the store.

Twitch did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication. However, in a statement, the company said it removed the live stream two minutes after it started, Reuters reported.

A deranged 180-page racist manifesto allegedly authored by the suspect has also been circulating, which has not been independently verified by The Sun.

Before entering the store, Gendron is accused of shooting thirteen people in total, killing ten and wounding three others.

One heroic victim was later reported to be security guard Aaron Salter Jr, who lost his life trying to defend customers and colleagues during the nightmarish gun rampage.

Buffalo police entered the store and confronted the suspect, police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia said at a news conference.

Muslim women are forbidden to marry non-Muslim men: “Do not marry idolatresses until they believe, for indeed, a believing slave woman is better than an idolatress, even though she pleases you. And do not give your daughters in marriage to idolaters until they believe, for indeed, a believing slave is better than an idolater, even though he pleases you. These people invite you to the fire, and Allah invites you to the garden, and to forgiveness by his grace, and explains his signs to mankind so that perhaps they will remember.” (Qur’an 2:221)
