Catholic nuns reveal sexual abuse by slovenian priest close to Vatican

Pervert priest Marko Rupnik forced Gloria Branciani and Mirjam Kovac to watch porn, have threesome in the name of Holy Trinity

By Edward Era Barbacena

On Wednesday (21st February), two former nuns revealed how a Slovenia-based Catholic priest named Marko Rupnik sexually abused them three decades ago in the garb of ‘spiritual growth.’

The victims, identified as Gloria Branciani and Mirjam Kovac, were members of the Ignatius of Loyola community. The duo held a press conference in Rome on Wednesday and informed the media that Rupnik forced them to watch pornography and have a threesome in the early 1990s.

“He took me to pornographic theatres to help me ‘grow spiritually’…He said that I would not grow spiritually if I did not meet his sexual needs. We had another nun have sex with us because he said it was like the Trinity”, narrated Gloria Branciani.

“(Rupnik) was always protected by everyone, and everything that you could accuse him of was either minimized or denied…” she added.

“We hope that our testimony – and for this reason we’re exposing ourselves like this, because we feel protected and supported – will stimulate a greater transparency and a consciousness by everyone, and also maybe the pope who wasn’t really aware of the facts that occurred,” Gloria Branciani further emphasised.

It must be mentioned that the victim left the Slovene community in 1993 and had even informed senior Vatican officials at that time. She said that no action was taken against Rupnik and that her accusations were dismissed.

During the press conference, former nun Mirjam Kovac said, “We were all young girls, full of ideals. But these very ideals, together with our training in obedience, were exploited for abuses of various kinds: of conscience, of power, spiritual, psychic, physical and often sexual.”

Who is Marko Rupnik

Marko Rupnik is a famous mosaic artist and a priest at a religious community in Slovenia. He has been accused of sexually abusing at least 20 women in the past 30 years.

He was temporarily excommunicated by the Church after he absolved a woman of having a sexual relationship with him. Rupnik was reinstated two weeks later after he ‘repented’ for his actions. It was only in June 2023 that he was expelled from the Jesuit order, the same one as that of Pope Francis.

Anne Barrett Doyle of ‘Bishop Accountability’, who documents church crimes, described Marko Rupnik as a “powerful cleric who was protected at the highest levels of the Church and the Vatican.” She added, “The Rupnik case shows that little has changed.”

Rupnik, however, continues to serve as a ‘priest’ in a diocese in Koper city of Slovenia. His mosaic art can be found in the Catholic shrine in Lourdes (France), the cathedral in Aparecida (Brazil), and the Redemptoris Mater chapel of the Apostolic Palace (Vatican).

Kris and Allan Jones of Wyoming charged Friday Feb. 23, for child abuse, torture of their three adopted children

By Edward Era Barbacena

Two Wyoming parents were charged with child abuse Friday in what the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office alleges was torture that went on for over a decade.

Kris and Alan Jones were both arraigned on three counts of torture and three counts of child abuse. The judge denied bond.

The couple's three adopted children endured the alleged torture and abuse beginning in 2013, according to court documents.

The children were forced to sleep in the garage in all weather elements, the documents reveal. Kris would remove the carpet from the stairs so the children had to sleep on concrete.

When the children were fed, documents said they were placed in a dog collar, forced to eat dog food with milk and oatmeal with hot sauce.

One of the children caught eating food from the trash at school because she wasn’t being fed at home, court documents read.

The kids were pushed down the stairs, held down, punched and even choked, according to court records.

“Very often in any type of child abuse, child sexual abuse its usually someone close to them, it is a parent, it’s a caregiver, its a relative," Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker said.

When they acted out, the parents allegedly made them run miles as punishment.

A neighbor close to the Hickory Ridge home, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she saw the kids taking laps around the house frequently and thought it was strange.

There's oftentimes a delayed response when kids report abuse, Becker said.

“It’s that relationship of trust that has been violated and then it puts that child in a situation where what do they do and it is very difficult for them to come forward," Becker said.

A primary care provider came forward with the abuse in 2017, reporting neglect and saying Kris and Alan Jones were not responding appropriately to the proper care plan.

Torture is an rare charge, Becker said, not seeing more than five cases a year.

“It requires a specific intent to cause an extreme physical abuse or mental harm so that specific intent factor is a very high level so it is difficult to prove," Becker said. “It's much more than trying to do something bad, its next level.”

Several Child Protective Services complaints allege there were signs of physical and mental abuse.

Kris allegedly did not cooperate with CPS or allowed workers to speak with the kids.

A CPS referral was never made, according to court records.

The children's weight and heights were reported under the 4th percentile of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention growth guide.

Dirty old American pastor of Delaware arrested on charges of possession of child sex abuse material

Paedophile James R. Dryden  was arrested on February 15th who accessed and downloaded child sexual abuse material

By Edward Era Barbacena

A former Seaford children's pastor has been arrested on 10 felony charges after admitting to possessing and viewing child sexual abuse material, the Delaware Department of Justice said Friday.

James Dryden, 74, was charged last week following an investigation by the state's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which includes Delaware State Police and the state Justice Department. The investigation began in July 2022 after the task force received cyber tips that Dryden's IP address had accessed the material, court documents say.

After receiving the tips, law enforcement contacted Dryden at his home and seized his devices. A forensic examination of the items showed he had additional material, the Justice Department said.

According to the Justice Department, Dryden had been a children’s pastor at Stein Highway Church of God in Seaford for more than 20 years. In a Friday morning statement, Pastor Dan Southern defined Dryden as a "volunteer children’s worker."

Southern added that the 74-year-old hasn't been working with children at the church for about three years.

Still, "following proper policy, he is immediately suspended from any and all activities at the Stein Highway Church of God, pending investigation and disposition of these charges," Southern said.

The Department of Justice said though Dryden is not charged with contacting a child − nor are investigators aware of any victims affiliated with the church − investigators are requesting anyone with information to come forward.

His work "brought him into regular contact with children," a DOJ news release said.

Southern did not say when the church learned of the charges against Dryden. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $500,000 cash bail.

LA deluded socialite  Rebecca Grossman found guilty of murder, manslaughter in 2020 hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers

By Edward Era Barbacena

A Southern California deluded socialite white woman was found guilty Friday of murder and other charges in the hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers in a crosswalk more than three years ago.

Authorities said Rebecca Grossman, wife of a prominent Los Angeles burn doctor, fatally struck Mark Iskander, 11, and brother Jacob, 8, while speeding behind a car driven by then-lover Scott Erickson, a former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.

The jury found Grossman guilty on all counts: Two felony counts each of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter, and one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.

She faces 34 years to life in prison.

The deadly crash occurred on the evening of Sept. 29, 2020, in Westlake Village, a city on the western edge of Los Angeles County.

Attending the court proceedings “felt like I am attending the funeral of the boys again, day after day,” their mother, Nancy Iskander, told reporters after the verdict.

“Someone is now held accountable. Mark and Jacob did not die, Mark and Jacob were murdered.”

Grossman was not charged with being under the influence, but former baseball player Royce Clayton testified he had joined her and Erickson at a nearby restaurant where Erickson had two margaritas and Grossman had one, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Prosecutors presented evidence that the data recorder in Grossman’s white Mercedes showed she was speeding at up to 81 mph (130 kph) and tapped her brakes, slowing her to 73 mph (117 kph), less than two seconds before a collision that set off her airbags.

The district attorney’s office commended the jury for its ruling in a statement.

“This decision underscores our commitment to holding accountable those who drive with total disregard for human life,” the statement said.

“We know that this guilty verdict can never replace their lives but we hope it may provide some peace for the Iskander family as they continue a life-long journey of healing from this tragedy.”

Grossman’s lead defense attorney, Tony Buzbee, repeatedly blamed Erickson for the deaths, suggesting the retired baseball player’s car hit Jacob, hurling him to a curb, and then hit Mark, throwing him into the path of Grossman’s Mercedes, the Times reported

Buzbee did not immediately return a request for comment after the verdict was read.

An attorney for Erickson has said the former ballplayer denies contributing in any way to the tragedy.

Erickson was initially charged with a misdemeanor count of reckless driving but it was dismissed after he made a public service announcement, the Times said.

Nancy Iskander testified that the black SUV did not hit her sons but could have hit her and her 5-year-old son, Zachary.

She said she dove out of the way and pulled Zachary to safety.

The mother said she did not see Mark and Jacob being struck but three eyewitnesses testified they saw a white or light-colored vehicle hit the boys.

Grossman’s husband, Dr. Peter Grossman, medical director of the Grossman Burn Centers, was called to testify by his wife’s defense.

The Grossmans are founders of the Grossman Burn Foundation, which promotes care and support of burn survivors.

Peter Grossman said he and his wife were separated at the time, living separate lives under the same roof while dating other people

His wife was involved with Erickson in 2020, he testified.

Under prosecution questioning, Peter Grossman said that out of the hundreds of times he rode with Rebecca Grossman he had no recollection of her ever speeding.

Brian Steven Smith was found guilty of all 14 criminal counts, including 1st and 2nd degree murder, tampering with evidence and sexual assault in the deaths of both women

By Edward Era Barbacena

A white racist South African man who tortured an Alaska Native woman and narrated as he recorded a video of her dying was found guilty of first-degree murder on Thursday for killing her and another Native woman.

The Anchorage jury returned a unanimous verdict against Brian Steven Smith after deliberating for less than two hours.

Smith, a 52-year-old from South Africa, showed no reaction in court and stared ahead as the judge read the jury’s verdict. He was arrested after a woman stole his cellphone from his truck and discovered the gruesome footage from 2019. The woman, a sex worker who became a key witness during the trial in Anchorage, then copied the footage to a memory card and ultimately turned it over to police, prosecutors said.

Smith later confessed to killing another Alaska Native woman whose body had been found earlier but had been misidentified.

Smith was found guilty of all 14 charges, including two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Kathleen Henry in 2019 and Veronica Abouchuk, either in 2018 or 2019. He was also convicted of multiple counts of sexual assault.

Sentencing was set for July 12 and July 19. Alaska does not have the death penalty.

Freda Dan, who is part of the Abouchuk family by marriage, sat through the trial nearly every day and gave high marks to law enforcement and the judicial system for their thorough work.

“We weren’t invisible, and we are people,” said Dan, who is from the village of Stebbing, adding they were treated with respect. Other family members declined to comment.

Also attending the trial was Smith’s wife, Stephanie Bissland of Anchorage.

“He was very good for me, but he had another life, I guess,” she said, adding his problems were likely exacerbated by heavy drinking.

Bissland said when he was first jailed, he was in a very dark place. “He got better,” she said.

She plans to write him and visit him when he is transferred to a prison. Divorce is not in the cards. “I said my vows,” she said.

Jurors stayed in the courtroom Thursday after delivering the verdict to hear more evidence about whether the first-degree murder conviction involved aggravating factors. They later found the murder involved “substantial physical torture” after hearing additional arguments from attorneys. That will subject Smith to a mandatory 99-year sentence.

For Abouchuk’s murder, he faces 30 to 99 years.

The graphic videos were only shown to the jury during the three-week trial, but audio could be heard in the gallery, where some heard Henry gasping for breath before dying. Prosecutors said he drove around with Henry’s body in the back of his pickup for two days before dumping her corpse on a rural road south of Anchorage.

The video never shows the man’s face but his distinctive accent is heard on the tape. He narrates as if to an audience and urges Henry to die as she’s repeatedly beaten and strangled in an Anchorage hotel room.

“In my movies, everybody always dies,” the voice says on one video. “What are my followers going to think of me? People need to know when they are being serial-killed.”

Henry and Abouchuk were from small villages in western Alaska, Henry from Eek and Abouchuk from Stebbins. Both women had experienced homelessness.

Sentencing was set for July 12 and July 19. Alaska does not have the death penalty.

Authorities say Henry was the victim whose death was recorded at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, a hotel in midtown Anchorage. Smith was registered to stay from Sept. 2 to Sept. 4, 2019; the first images showing her body were time-stamped at about 1 a.m. on Sept. 4, police said.

The last images on the card were taken early on Sept. 6 and showed Henry’s body in the back of a black pickup, according to charging documents. Location data showed that at the time the photo was taken, Smith’s phone was near Rainbow Valley Road, along the Seward Highway south of Anchorage, the same area where Henry’s body was found several weeks later, police said.

Valerie Casler, the woman who provided the images to police, has changed her story over the years about how she came into possession of the SD memory card.

She first claimed she found the card, labeled “Murder at the Midtown Marriott” on the ground.

Later, she claimed she stole the card from the center console of Smith’s pickup when they were on what she described as a “date,” but then changed it to say she stole Smith’s phone from the truck.

When she charged the phone, she said she found 46 images and one video on it, and later transferred those to an SD card she stole from a department store. She then labeled the card. Authorities later said the SD card contained 39 images and 12 videos.

During an eight-hour police interrogation at the Anchorage airport, Smith confessed to police that he also killed Abouchuk. Smith had picked her up in Anchorage while his wife was out of town. He said she smelled, but Abouchuk refused to take a shower when he asked.

He became upset, retrieved a pistol from the garage and shot her in the head before dumping her body north of Anchorage. He told police where the body was left, and authorities later found a skull with a bullet wound there.

American father of New Hampshire found guilty of murder of 5-year-old daughter whose remain is still missing

American father of New Hampshire found guilty of murder of 5-year-old daughter whose remain is  still missing

Adam Montgomery has been found guilty of all charges in connection with the death of Harmony Montgomery

By Edward Era Barbacena

A New Hampshire man was convicted of second-degree murder by a jury Thursday in the death of his 5-year-old daughter, who police believe was killed nearly two years before she was reported missing in 2021 and whose body was never found.

Adam Montgomery, 34, did not attend the trial and wasn’t present when jurors returned their verdict. He had proclaimed his innocence, saying in court last year in an unrelated case that he loved Harmony Montgomery “unconditionally.”

“I am grateful to the judge, jury, and Department of Justice for delivering justice for Harmony," New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu said in a statement. "Adam Montgomery is a monster and deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.”

His attorneys earlier acknowledged his guilt on two lesser charges, that he “purposely and unlawfully removed, concealed or destroyed” her corpse and falsified physical evidence, but said he didn’t kill his daughter. The jury also convicted him of assaulting Harmony Montgomery in 2019 and of tampering with the key prosecution witness, his estranged wife and stepmother of his daughter, Kayla Montgomery.

Investigators believe Harmony Montgomery was slain in December 2019, though she wasn’t reported missing for almost two years. Kayla Montgomery testified that the body was hidden in the trunk of a car, a cooler, a ceiling vent, and a workplace freezer before Adam Montgomery disposed of it.

Defense attorneys did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment Thursday.

Adam Montgomery had custody of the girl. Her mother, Crystal Sorey, who was no longer in a relationship with him, said the last time she saw Harmony Montgomery was during a video call in April 2019. She eventually went to police, who announced they were looking for the missing child on New Year’s Eve 2021.

Photos of the girl were widely circulated on social media. Police eventually determined she had been killed.

“I’m relieved that there’s some justice being served,” Sorey told WMUR-TV on Thursday. “Obviously, it’s not over. I have a little bit of peace knowing that he’s being held accountable because he thought he was so untouchable and that she didn’t matter, that nobody would miss her. He was so wrong, he was so wrong.”

She said she still want to find the remains of her daughter so she can finally bring her home.

“We’ve still got to find her,” police Chief Allen Aldenberg said Thursday. “This girl deserves better than the life she had.”

Alendberg said he imagines the city of Manchester and state “probably feel pretty good right now that we, collectively as a state did our part on behalf of Harmony, and wherever she is right now, maybe she feels it.”

Harmony Montgomery's case has exposed weaknesses in child protection systems and provoked calls to prioritize the well-being of children over parents in custody matters. Harmony was moved between the homes of her mother and her foster parents multiple times before Adam Montgomery received custody in 2019 and moved to New Hampshire.

“I still firmly believe that some people in some other agencies need to be held accountable. And I’m asking for that,” Aldenberg said, referring to child welfare officials in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. "This little 5-year-old girl, she deserves somebody to be held accountable that failed along the way because we wouldn’t be standing here today if other people had done their job.”

Kayla Montgomery is serving an 18-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to perjury charges related to the investigation into the child’s disappearance and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. She testified that that her husband killed Harmony Montgomery on Dec. 7, 2019, while the family lived in their car after being evicted from their home.

Kayla Montgomery testified that her husband repeatedly punched Harmony Montgomery in the face and head because he was angry that she was having bathroom accidents in the car.

The couple noticed the girl was dead hours later when the car broke down, at which time Adam Montgomery put her body in a duffel bag, Kayla Montgomery had testified.

For the next three months, she testified, Adam Montgomery moved the body from container to container and place to place. According to his wife, the locations included the trunk of a friend’s car, a cooler in the hallway of his mother-in-law’s apartment building, the ceiling vent of a homeless shelter and a workplace freezer.

Prosecutor Benjamin Agati said at a news conference Thursday that the jury had to pay attention to 50 witnesses in eight days of testimony.

Agati said the trial does not end the search for Harmony. He said that after analyzing the mileage Adam Montgomery took with the rental truck into Massachusetts, there are about 26 miles (42 kilometers) that he could have covered where her remains might be.

“She is somewhere along that route,” he said, pointing out previous searches in the Revere, Massachusetts, area. “Those are still our big areas of search.”

Agati said that when Montgomery is sentenced in the coming months, he should face a minimum sentence on the murder charge of 35 years to life, a tougher sentence because of his daughter’s young age. He said that would be consecutive with armed criminal charges for which he is already serving a minimum sentence of more than 33 years.

Asked if that meant Montgomery was never getting out of prison, the prosecutor said: “It’s a lot of time, and I hope I’m not practicing at the time that that minimum date ever comes around.”

American homosexual and paedophile pastor of California charged with sexual molestation of four boys

American homosexual and paedophile pastor of California charged with sexual molestation of four boys

Ruven Meulenberg worked at the church for years and his leadership role provided access to children

By Edward Era Barbacena

A former Orange County youth pastor who worked at a popular megachurch was charged with allegedly molesting four teenage boys.

Ruven Meulenberg, 39, mentored junior-high-aged children at Saddleback Church, a popular evangelical Christian megachurch in Lake Forest. Meulenberg and his twin brother were also featured on a YouTube channel dedicated to gaming and music production.

In May 2017, Meulenberg was arrested for allegedly engaging in lewd conduct and an inappropriate relationship with two 14-year-old twin boys. The incidents took place between May 2016 and May 2017 while at a movie theater and inside the pastor’s car, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

At the time of the alleged abuse, one of the victims regularly attended the church and was part of its Junior High Ministry program, which is “designed specifically to help 7th-8th graders connect with Jesus, each other and a caring adult,” according to Saddleback Church.

In a 2018 trial, prosecutors described some of the sexual abuse saying the boys were sitting with Meulenberg in a darkened movie theater when he prompted one of them to sit on his lap, the Orange County Register reported.

Meulenberg allegedly kissed the boy twice — once on his head, another time on the cheek — before kissing him on the lips, prosecutors said.

Meulenberg tried to get the teen to kiss him, asking him to do so, but the victim told him he didn’t feel comfortable doing that. Afterward, Meulenberg told the boy to switch seats with his brother. He then repeated the same illicit behavior with the other boy, officials said.

When the boys returned home, they reported the sexual abuse to their mother.

Meulenberg was convicted of molestation in 2018 before the conviction was overturned when a judge ruled one of the jurors had engaged in misconduct by sharing information with other jurors about the psychiatric testing of subjects in criminal trials.

A new trial where Meulenberg will face the same charges for his alleged abuse of the twins will be held, but has yet to be scheduled.

While awaiting that trial, a third victim, a 13-year-old boy, came forward saying he met the suspect at church and was invited to the movies and dinner with him between August 2016 and September 2017. On one or more occasions, Meulenberg allegedly molested the boy while hanging out with him privately, court documents said.

Meulenberg was charged with four felony counts of a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 in that case.

After those charges were filed, a fourth victim told authorities that he had been touched inappropriately by Meulenberg between June 2017 and June 2018 while the pastor drove him home from a church event. He was 14 at the time.

A charge of one felony count of a lewd act upon a child 14 or 15 years old who is at least 10 years younger than the suspect was filed in that case.

Saddleback Church is one of the largest churches in the U.S., with a weekly attendance of around 28,000, according to the O.C. Register.

Because Meulenberg worked at the church for years and his leadership role provided access to children, investigators believe there could be additional victims.

“Strong mentors are meant to help our children navigate the difficulties of growing up and realize their full potential,” said O.C. District Attorney Todd Spitzer. “Instead of providing the spiritual guidance he pretended to provide, this youth pastor seized on the vulnerabilities of these children for his own sick sexual gratification. He has not only forever shaken their belief in anyone in a position of trust and authority; he has irreparably damaged their faith and the faith of countless other parishioners who believed their children were safe with him and youth pastors everywhere.”

If convicted on all charges, Meulenberg could face up to life in prison, prosecutors said. He was released and remains on GPS monitoring while awaiting trial on both criminal cases.

Annie Anderson has been arrested nearly 20 years after her newborn baby was found dead at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

By Edward Era Barbacena

There are tons of documented cases of children murdered by their own parents and this kind of crime is no longer rare in the United States. The usual culprits are white people.

Investigators believe they have solved a decades-old cold case, identifying the woman who allegedly killed her newborn baby and left her in an Arizona airport bathroom in 2005.

The baby's mother, 51-year-old Annie Anderson (white as usua), is in custody in Washington state on a warrant related to the investigation. She is now awaiting extradition before she is formally charged in Maricopa County, Arizona.

The investigation began on Oct. 10, 2005, when police responded to a report of a dead baby in a Terminal 4 bathroom at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix police Lt. James Hester said at a press conference.

On the scene, police found a dead female newborn wrapped in newspapers and a white towel stuffed in a plastic bag with red Marriott lettering, Hester said. Police said it was likely the birth did not happen at the airport, according to evidence on the scene.

Genetic genealogy databases were used to identify family matches to the profile of the baby's mother based on DNA evidence they had found at the scene. After identifying a possible relative through genetic genealogy, police approached the person, who then consented to providing a DNA sample.

At the time, police were unsuccessful in identifying a suspect, Hester said. The medical examiner's office determined the baby, dubbed Baby Skylar, died as a result of suffocation, ruling the death a homicide, Hester said.

DNA from the scene -- that police identified as being from the mother -- was run against DNA evidence in police databases, but authorities were unable to identify the suspect at the time, he said.

In 2020, the case was identified as one in which genetic genealogy could be used to identify new leads, according to Dan Horan, a supervisory special agent for the FBI's Phoenix office.

After investigators were able to piece together a family tree for the suspect, she was confronted by investigators. Anderson identified herself as the mother of the baby and told police her account of what had occurred, ultimately admitting to killing the baby.

Anderson told police she was in Arizona on business at the time of the murder. The father of the baby has been identified, but police said they have no reason to believe he has criminal culpability in the murder.

Alisha Stevens, 34, of Sylvania, is charged with murder in the second degree

By Edward Era Barbacena

A Sylvania woman is facing charges in the death of her infant in Burke County.

In a heartrending turn of events, a one-year-old girl was found unresponsive in 4 feet of water in Burke County, Georgia. Her mother, Alisha Stevens, has been charged with second-degree murder. As the community grapples with this devastating loss, they seek answers and justice.

Burke County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMA were called to the 600 block of Winter Road, Monday just before 1 p.m., in reference to an unresponsive child.

She was immediately taken to Burke Health, where medical personnel tried to save her life.

She did not survive.

“Preliminary information provided to deputies was that the child was left unattended for some time and while unattended the child fell into a hole that had been dug in the back yard of the Winter Road address,” the Burke County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday in a statement.

The child was later pronounced dead upon arriving at Burke Healt.

Investigators have arrested and charged her mother, 34-year-old Alisha Stevens, with one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

The arrest warrant states that the mother, with criminal negligence, ”caused the death of her daughter by not watching her when the child “ran around the property.”

According to the arrest warrant, the mother was grilling at the time.

Stevens is being held at the Burke County Detention Center.

Addlyn’s family says they’re remember her as a happy child.

“She was thriving, she was happy. She was joyful. She was a light to anybody who met her,” said Rachel Lesesne, Addlyn’s aunt.

Don Steven McDougal was charged with capital murder by Polk County authorities

By Edward Era Barbacena

Another deranged white American adult is now charged for the murder of an innocent juvenile in Texas

Authorities in Texas have charged a man with murder in connection with the death of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham, who disappeared last week on her way to school, according to police.

Don Steven McDougal, 42, was charged with capital murder by Polk County authorities a day after Audrii’s body was found in Trinity River,.

Audrii was reported missing in Livingston, Texas, on Feb. 15 when she didn’t show up for school, police said at the time.

On Feb. 16, Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested McDougal, 42, on an unrelated assault charge. At the time, he was considered a person of interest in Audrii’s disappearance.

McDougal has past convictions for enticement of a child, FOX 26, KHOU 11 and Click 2 Houston report, citing court records. It is unclear if McDougal has retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Audrii was last seen near her residence at about 7 a.m. local time in Livingston, the Polk County authorities said in a press release on Feb 16.

“Audrii should have caught the school bus at her neighborhood bus stop; however, school officials reported to the Sheriff’s Office that the school bus did not pick Audrii up, nor did she report to school,” the release reads.

Authorities say they believed a dark blue 2003 Chevrolet Suburban belonging to McDougal was tied to Audrii’s disappearance.

Police also located “a small backpack that likely belonged to a child” near the Lake Livingston Dam, they said on Feb. 17. Audrii was carrying a bright red “Hello Kitty” backpack at the time of her disappearance, but police did not specify anything further about the backpack they recovered.

Audrii's mother, Cassie Matthews, believes McDougal may be a friend of Audrii's father, per FOX 26.

Troy Bohling admits to charges of murder, rape attempted murder and possession of child porn

By Edward Era Barbacena

An American man (white as usual) today admitted to charges of murder and rape after he allegedly pushed two U.S. tourists down a ravine, fatally injuring one of them near Germany's Cinderella castle last year

On Monday, Troy Bohling, 31, admitted to charges of murder, rape with fatal consequences, attempted murder and possession of child porn at the start of his trial in Germany. He was not named locally because of the country's privacy laws.

The attack happened on June 14 last year near the Marienbruecke, a bridge over a gorge close to the castle that offers a view of Neuschwanstein castle, said to be in the inspiration for the castles in Disney's Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella movies.

Prosecutors say the defendant met by chance the two female tourists, Eva Liu and Kelsey Chang, aged 21 and 22, on a hiking path and lured them off the trail.

He attacked Liu first, attempting to undress and rape her before pushing her companion off of a slope with a 165ft drop, which caused her significant injuries.

During the course of the investigation, authorities found Bohling's laptop and cellphone contained child pornography.

Defendants in the German legal system do not formally enter pleas to charges.

'The defendant has committed an unfathomable crime,' defense lawyer Philip Mueller said in a statement. The defendant, whose name hasn't been released in line with German privacy rules, confirmed that his lawyer's statement was correct but did not answer any questions.

A verdict in the case is expected in March.

Authorities say the women didn't know the man before they met near Neuschwanstein. The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack.

Liu, from Naperville, Illinois and Chang, from Bloomington, Illinois, were on a European trip of a lifetime, having graduated University of Illinois.

The two recent graduates met Bohling as they visited the Neuschwanstein castle.

When Chang tried to help her, a scuffle ensued Bohling allegedly pushing her down a steep slope. She fell about 165 feet and sustained a head injury, bruises and grazes but survived.

The suspect, from Lincoln Park, Michigan, then allegedly strangled Liu until she was unconscious and raped her, prosecutors said, before pushing her down the slope as well.

When mountain rescue workers found the two women, Chang was injured but able to talk.

The rape victim was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to hospital, where she died later that night as a result of her injuries.

Other tourists witnessed the assault and later filmed Bohling as he was led away in handcuffs by police.

Bohling photographed and filmed key scenes of the crime, German daily Bild reports.

The rescue operation and his subsequent arrest took place in front of hundreds of tourists, according to the publication.

Bohling lived with his brother Trevor in a single-story house about 20 minutes from Detroit.

Neighbors described him as 'quiet' and not very friendly and said the brothers were often away for long periods of time.

They assumed the pair worked in oil fields.

The brothers mostly stayed inside, only being seen outside to 'walk their cat on a leash in the garden', the neighbor added. 'The family is weird. Troy would never look you down in the eye when he came and went.

I'm shocked what he's been accused of, I'm scared he may have done stuff here and no one has figured it out yet.'

In June, Mary Bohling, his mother, told Bild: 'My son is not in Germany at all. We have to find out what happened – we won't comment.'

Bohling attended Allen Park High School near Detroit with former classmates describing him as rather shy and inconspicuous boy that played in the school band and had a girlfriend.

Another person who only knew him briefly says that the alleged killer spent a lot of time playing the role-playing game 'Dungeons and Dragons' in the library in his hometown of Allen Park.

A former friend of the alleged killer, who he had spent several summers in a camp with, said he was 'introverted, shy, quiet and a little peculiar' but ultimately friendly.

He said doing something like the attack in Germany would be unlike 'the Troy he knew ten years ago.'

Court records show that in 2016 he faced a charge of embezzlement, but there was no prosecution and the matter was dropped.

Mass shooting again in the United States leaves one dead and six shot in Indianapolis Waffle House

By Edward Era Barbacena

A mass shooting at an Indianapolis Waffle House left one woman dead and at least five people injured Monday morning.

Gunfire erupted around 12:30 a.m. when two groups became involved in an altercation, according the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Four men and two women were reportedly shot. One of the men, who reportedly got himself to Methodist Hospital or was taken there by someone, was in critical condition.

One local station said a handgun was found at the crime scene and another firearm was located in a nearby car.

Police said “multiple victims” remained on the scene and were aiding authorities in their investigation. Investigators also planned to view surveillance video to help them figure out what happened. It’s not clear if any of the victims were armed.

The shooting ended what was an otherwise celebratory weekend in Indianapolis, which hosted Sunday’s NBA All-Star game and several related activities. The scene of the shooting is less than 8 miles from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Monday’s gunplay comes days after 22 people were injured and one woman was killed following a parade celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win in Missouri.

Adam Westbrook was also the human resources director for Outagamie County, WI and is pictured in drag with the Mayor of Sheboygan.

By Edward Era Barbacena

Outagamie County's human resources director was arrested overnight and is in a southern Wisconsin jail.

Jail records from Sauk County show Adam Westbrook was booked at 3:40 a.m. Friday.

According to the records, sheriff's officials are recommending he be charged with four counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of sexual exploitation of a child. No formal charges have been filed in the case.

FOX 11 has learned Westbrook was taken into custody in Neenah after multiple agencies, including the Neenah Police Department and the State Department of Justice, executed a search warrant as part of a Kenosha County investigation.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office told FOX 11 it won't be releasing any information about Westbrook's arrest yet, as it's part of a much larger investigation where the safety of children is a concern.

According to his LinkedIn account, Westbrook started working for Outagamie County in September of 2023. He worked in a similar capacity for the City of Sheboygan and City of Oshkosh in 2022 and 2023, staying in each position for less than a year. Before working in human resources, he was the city attorney in Neenah.

Outagamie County officials tell FOX 11 they learned about Westbrook's arrest Friday morning from law enforcement. Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson's office released this statement Friday:

"We are shocked by the charges and have begun the process to terminate the individual. We will continue to cooperate with authorities and do all that we can to assist in the investigation."

Sauk County sheriff's officials say Westbrook is scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon.

American paedophile pastor of Minnesota charged with sexually abusing a minor

American paedophile pastor of Minnesota charged with sexually abusing a minor

Luverne Daniel Zachariascharged with sex crimes concerning 14-year-old school girl

By Edward Era Barbacena

A former Minnesota pastor has been charged with several felony sex crimes for allegedly sexually touching a girl in a school basement and at his church office, beginning when she was 14, court records show.

Luverne Daniel Zacharias, 46, former pastor of Owatonna’s Christian Family Church (CFC), reportedly told the girl she was his “kryptonite,” according to records from the Steele County District Court. And when the victim reported the matter to the head pastors, they reportedly discouraged her from going to police, telling her to think about how that would affect his own kids, records show.

Zacharias is being charged with six counts of criminal sexual conduct, including charges related to penetration, sexual touch, and abusing his position of authority, court records show. Zacharias was the victim’s youth pastor at the time of the abuses and was also the principal of El Shaddai Christian School, a school associated with CFC.

The abuse allegedly happened from 2006-2009, beginning when the victim was a middle school student at the school, records show. Later, Zacharias was reportedly promoted to campus pastor, then resigned a year ago, stating “poor choices” as the reason.

CFC has connections to Oral Roberts University, according to the Owatonna’s People’s Press, and Oral Roberts’ son, Richard Roberts, led a healing service at the church in 2019.

The church also gained attention in November 2023 for erecting a 77-foot, 7-inch cross and prayer garden along Interstate 35 that cost $4 million of donor money, the Press reported.

Alleged abuse

The victim told police in her statement that “teachers would send kids to the basement to retrieve milk from the fridge, sometimes Zacharias would be down there.”

Zacharias wrote her notes and told her she was “beautiful,” that she reminded him of her daughter, the victim’s statement says. He reportedly added, “I can’t control myself around you,” and “you’re my kryptonite.”

He initially sexually touched her at least once a day over her clothing, she reportedly told police. Eight or nine months later, he started touching her underneath her clothing, penetrating her. He also would move her hand to feel his penis over his clothing. The abuse happened at the school and the church until the victim graduated in 2009, court records state.

In 2019, Zacharias contacted her, asking for oral sex, she told police in a statement. In 2021, he reportedly asked her to send him nude photos or videos of her.

The victim refused and then reported the abuse to Tim and Cherrie Peterson, pastors of CFC, her statement to police states. In 2022, she reported the matter to the Owatonna Police Department.

The Petersons did not respond

A relative of the victim, also a former student, told police in a statement that Zacharias also contacted her in 2011 and asked for oral sex and for her to send him pictures.

“When she would go to the church and see him, he would close off his door and right (sic) the messages on pieces of paper so no one would hear,” police stated in court documents. “The former student stated she would say no to him or freeze and tense up when he asked these questions.”

Alleged mishandling of reports

When the first victim reported the assault to the Petersons, they told her they’d “hold Zacharias accountable for his actions,” according to the victim’s statement to police. But they also reportedly discouraged her from reporting the matter to police, noting the impact on the Zacharias family, records state.

A former church member reportedly told police that she was present for a “reconciliation” meeting with Zacharias, Cherrie Peterson, and the father of a victim, records show.

Cherrie Peterson told police in her statement that Zacharias admitted to the Petersons that he gave the victim “a couple of hugs when she was fifteen or sixteen from behind,” but said it was a “quick hug” that he regretted. In her statement, Cherrie Peterson told police Zacharias knew he should resign, but the Petersons were also trying to “restore him.”

Cherrie Peterson later told police that she knew about “inappropriate texts” Zacharias sent a then 17-year-old student. She said she suggested Zacharias “got counseling at the time,” court records state.

In a statement, a witness told police that the day Zacharias stepped down as pastor, the Petersons told the congregation not to record the church sermon. This seemed off, so the witness did it anyway, according to the witness’ statement.

The recording showed that Tim Peterson talked about “rebuking wrong behavior and restoring people of the congregation,” according to the police statement. Zacharias also spoke to the congregation to say he was resigning as campus pastor due to “poor choices,” police said in a statement.

“Today I am sharing with my church family that I have made poor choices in my past that I am not proud of,” Zacharias said in the recording provided to police. “These choices caused me to be unfit for my pastoral position. To protect my two girls and wife I will not share the details. I am now focusing on restoration.”

In response to the news about Zacharias, a former CFC member came forward to the Steele County Times this week alleging the Petersons mishandled a different case in 2019.

The former church member told the newspaper that church members discovered through a background check that staffer Phillip Lee Holmer, who helped in the nursery, had served jail time in 2014 for sex abuse in Oregon.

When these members tried to tell the Petersons about the man, asking they remove him from working with children and alert parents, the Petersons didn’t answer for a month, the Steele County Times reported. Instead, the Petersons’ son, Trey, also church staff, answered, saying, “You will all be surprised at how much of that information is inaccurate,” the Steele County Times reported.

Trey reportedly told members that Holmer was removed from ministry. However, the Steele County Times in Owatonna reported that Holmer was working at the church as recently as last year.

Zacharias’ victim told police in her statement she believed the church isn’t keeping kids safe.

“Victim 1 advised that the reason she is coming forward with her story is so no one else goes through what she went through, and she does not think the church is going to do enough to keep kids safe,” court records show.

In a January 23 motion, Zacharias’ attorney requested the case be dismissed due to being “untimely” and “lack of probable cause,” Owatonna People’s Press reported. The settlement conference will be held May 30, the Press reported.

Ruth DiRienzo-Whitehead used belt to strangle her son Mathew Whitehead,11, claiming she didn't want him to face financial struggles

By Edward Era Barbacena

A Pennsylvania mother (white as usual) was convicted of murder after she strangled her son to death so he wouldn't have to grow up with financial struggles.

Ruth DiRienzo-Whitehead was charged with the murder of 11-year-old Matthew Whitehead after his body was found in their Horsham home in April 2023, according to a statement from the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, NBC Philadelphia and 6 ABC reported Thursday that a judge found DiRienzo-Whitehead guilty of first-degree murder, rejecting an insanity defense that her attorneys had argued for.

On Friday, Dirienzo-Whitehead was sentenced to life in prison, 6 ABC reported

Following her arrest, DiRienzo-Whitehead told police that the family had been struggling financially. Dirienze-Whitehead said she did not want her son to grow up with these struggles, and admitted to strangling him with a belt as he slept, the outlets reported, citing authorities.

Matthew’s father called 911 after he noticed the door to the primary bedroom was locked and the family's Toyota Highlander was missing. Police found Matthew's body in the bedroom, where he'd fallen asleep with his mother, the district attorney’s office said.

The boy had ligature marks on the front and rear of his neck, his face was swollen and with petechiae to his eyes, authorities said.

Police found the missing SUV in Cape May, N.J., where DiRienzo-Whitehead had driven it into the ocean. She was found walking around six miles north of the abandoned vehicle. Authorities said they found a belt on the floor of the driver's side of the SUV.

DiRienzo-Whitehead’s attorney Eugene Tinari expressed disappointment after the verdict, the Inquirer reported.

“I believe it was strictly as a result of her being in psychosis and mental illness based on the reasons I said. The love of her child, her character,” Tinari said, according to the outlet.

Before his death, Matthew was a sixth-grader at Germantown Academy.

"Matthew was an extraordinary child with a smile as bright as the sun,” the school said in a statement reported by the Inquirer. “We loved him, and we will forever mourn his loss."

B.C. Catholic Church settles lawsuit against paedophile priest, teacher who sexually abused 6-year-old boy

John Kilty and Raymond Clavin both homosexuals sexually molested 6-year-old boy including sodomy in the 70s

By Edward Era Barbacena

The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vancouver has settled a lawsuit brought by a B.C. man who says he was groomed and sexually assaulted by a priest and a teacher at North Vancouver's Holy Trinity Elementary School when he was six years old.

The settlement was reached Tuesday, the seventh day of a trial in which plaintiff "John Doe" described his alleged abuse at the hands of Father John Kilty and teacher Raymond Clavin in the 1970s.

Before the civil trial began, the church admitted the abuse occurred, and admitted its vicarious liability for the men's actions. However, the church denied that it knew or ought to have known at the time that the priest and teacher posed a risk to young boys in the community.

Victim violated in 'various and severe' ways

Kilty, who died in 1983, was the pastor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 1948 until 1982 and coached the boys' basketball team at Holy Trinity Elementary School.

Clavin, who is believed to be living in Europe but "cannot be located and has not participated in these proceedings," according to the plaintiff's lawyer, was a teacher and coach at the elementary school when the plaintiff was a young student.

Doe alleged he was repeatedly and violently sexually assaulted by both men in a co-ordinated manner, which included forced fellatio and anal penetration. He also claimed the priest drugged him and the teacher threatened to harm him.

"John Doe was targeted by both Kilty and Clavin when he was just six years old as a Grade 1 student at Holy Trinity Elementary School in North Vancouver, in 1974-1975," Doe's lawyers said in a statement Tuesday. "Both men sexually violated the young boy in various and severe ways, including penetrative rape."

Plaintiff underwent MDMA, psilocybin treatment

The plaintiff says he has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental-health issues in the 50 years since that time. He sought a host of punitive and special damages from the church, as well as compensation for lost earning capacity as a result of the trauma.

"I cannot find the right words to explain how the sexual abuse I endured at age six has impacted my life," Doe said in a statement after the settlement was reached.

"The stain of these traumatic events has permeated all facets of my life experience and caused me immense suffering, including a period of profound suicidality. I am fortunate to have survived that darkness – and improved – with the help of innovative pioneering treatments, including MDMA and psilocybin-assisted therapies."

In December 2020, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver publicly acknowledged that it had reached a financial settlement with one of several men who had accused Kilty of sexual assault when they were minors in the 1970s. The church says it only became aware of the first allegations against Kilty in 2003, two decades after the priest died.

In its initial response to Doe's lawsuit, the church denied there was an operational culture within the organization that enabled Kilty and Clavin to sexually abuse male children at the school and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

The church had also claimed that if Doe suffered injury or damage as a result of abuse, he failed to take steps to mitigate the injury, such as seeking counselling, medication or physical therapy.

Settlement 'reflects gravity' of harm

Mallory K. Hogan, one of Doe's lawyers in the case, said Wednesday that her plaintiff has chosen not to disclose the monetary terms of the settlement.

"What I can say is that the outcome was extremely favourable and the settlement amount reflects the gravity of my client's harms and losses, as well as the risk of punitive damages being awarded against the archdiocese for its very obvious wilful blindness," Hogan said in a statement to CTV News.

The trial, which was presided over by B.C. Supreme Court Justice Catherine Murray, was scheduled to last four weeks in a New Westminster courtroom.

"I did not appreciate how much freedom and gratitude I would feel after having the opportunity to be fully heard by an impartial and compassionate judge in a court of law," Doe said in his statement.

"I am deeply thankful to our justice system, and by extension to my fellow Canadians, that I had access to this system in which I could seek recompense for a deeply intimate and grievous injury," he added.

"While the process was difficult and triggering, the defendant did in the end come to the table and this resolution allows me to put my connection with that institution in the proverbial rear-view mirror."

In a similar civil case heard last month, a former Victoria public school student was awarded more than $2.3 million(opens in a new tab) in damages from the estate of a former school tutor who sexually abused him as a child, representing the "highest compensatory damages award for sexual abuse in Canada," according to Hogan.

Lori Miller Holland was charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse and one count of misdemeanor assault on an individual with a disability.

By Edward Era Barbacena

When it comes to child abuse in the United States,  teachers are some of the most common perpetrators on both physical and sexual abuses. Off course, the usual suspects are white.

Two teachers (who are white) from the same county in North Carolina have been charged for allegedly abusing a special needs child in the past three months.

According to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE, Lori Miller Holland was charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse and one count of misdemeanor assault on an individual with a disability by the Wake County Sheriff's Office on Friday.

The 54-year-old is a special programs teacher at Carver Elementary in Wendell, a town in Wake County. Holland allegedly brought a "substantial risk of injury" and "unlawfully and willfully did assault and strike" by "dragging" them "down the hallway of the school" on Jan. 30, according to her arrest warrant. She posted a $1000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 18.

The News & Observer reported that Holland has been a part of the Wake County school system since 2012 and has been suspended with pay. School principal Wenitra Merritt sent a message to families informing them of Holland's suspension, per the outlet.

"I want to assure you that we take the safety of our students and staff members very seriously. While privacy laws prevent me from providing much additional information about the situation, I can share that Ms. Holland is suspended," the message read, according to The News & Observer.

The incident follows the December arrest of Tiffany Krystine Ebron, 29, who was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault on a child under 12, one count of misdemeanor assault on an individual with disabilities, and one count of misdemeanor child abuse, per court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. Ebron was employed as a special programs instruction assistant at East Garner Elementary School. Garner is also part of Wake County, N.C.

The charges stemmed from an alleged Nov. 14, 2024 incident in which Ebron allegedly lifted a special needs child "by the feet, resulting in the child striking the back of the head on the floor." She is alleged to have "dragged" the unidentified 9-year-old child "by the feet across the floor."

The arrest warrant states that Ebron did the alleged act "unlawfully and willfully" while she was "a person providing care and supervision."

"The physical injury inflicted caused the child to complaint of head and [that] he had carpet burn on his stomach and arms, and was inflicted by other than accidental means," the document states.

Ebron was ordered to pay a $15,000 bond and remains suspended without pay.

Mashenka Reid is charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

By Edward Era Barbacena

When it comes to family annihilation, there are so many cases in the US wherein the usual suspects are middle-aged white men. But this time it's different - the family killer is a white teen daughter.

A Nevada teen (white as usual) is accused of fatally shooting her father and younger brother in their Reno home, police say, according to multiple reports.

Washoe County jail records indicate that Mashenka Reid, 17, is charged with two counts of open murder and one count of attempted murder.

Reid was arrested Friday after she allegedly called 911 and told a dispatcher, “I shot my dad. I shot my brother. I think my brother is dead,” according to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by News 4, 2 News Nevada and the Reno Gazette Journal.

She also allegedly told the dispatchers, “I couldn’t control the urge to kill somebody,” according to the reported affidavit.

Reno police found the body of Reid’s brother, who was around 4 or 5 years old, on the living room couch, according to the Gazette Journal, citing the affidavit, and the body of her father was found in the garage. Neither of the victims’ names have been released.

Reid told police she “believed” her younger sister was alive, the reported affidavit alleges. The younger sister was reportedly found alive.

Reid also allegedly said she dropped the gun, a Walther PPS, inside the home.

It is not immediately clear if Reid has entered a plea. Court records indicate that she is being represented by a public defender.

Juan Carlos Garcia was removed from an associate pastor's position at St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin.

By Edward Era Barbacena

A former associate pastor at St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin who was removed from that position amid an investigation of sexual misconduct involving a youth is now charged in the case.

Juan Carlos Garcia has been booked into the Williamson County Jail with a $2 million bond, according to jail records.

Garcia was indicted by the Williamson County grand jury on one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, one count of aggravated sexual battery, four counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, and two counts of sexual battery, according to the Diocese of Nashville.

In early November, St. Philip officials reported to the Diocese of Nashville Safe Environment Office that a teen in the parish had made a report of improper touching involving Garcia.

The diocese relayed the report to the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. A former FBI agent was retained to investigate the report, the Diocese of Nashville said.

The Franklin Police Department launched an investigation and Garcia was removed from his position at the parish and from public ministry, according to a Diocese of Nashville announcement in January.

Garcia was ordained to the priesthood in 2020 as an associate pastor at St. Rose of Lima in Murfreesboro until his assignment to St. Philip in July 2022.

"Aaron Ivey, Austin Stone Worship Pastor and Husband of Podcaster Jamie Ivey, Accused of ‘Indecent’ Texts with Men."

By Edward Era Barbacena

Aaron Ivey, worship pastor and husband of podcaster Jamie Ivey, has been dismissed from his position at the Texas-based megachurch, The Austin Stone Church, after the church revealed that he had engaged in "inappropriate and explicit ongoing text messages with an adult male."

According to Religion News Service, the multicampus evangelical church fired Ivey last Monday after elders discovered a “disqualifying situation” the day before.

“Several elders were made aware of this situation on the evening of Sunday, February 4th and after reviewing the explicit nature of these messages, it was clear that termination of Aaron’s eldership and employment was necessary in accordance with the clear biblical standards outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Timothy 5:19-20,” the elders said the statement.

In the first passage, the apostle Paul urges church leaders to remain faithful in marriage while the second calls for the churchs’ reproval of church elders “who are sinning” should be reproved before everyone.

“Since then, we have uncovered multiple similar instances with different individuals dating back to 2011 that show a very clear pattern of predatory manipulation, sexual exploitation, and abuse of influence,” the elders notes. “Three of the known instances involved adult male individuals. However, one known instance, in 2011, involved a minor male outside our formal programming, which we have reported to the appropriate authorities.”

The elders added that they have informed Ministry Safe, which train’s church staff to prevent child abuse, about the situation.

“As elders, we are heartbroken for the victims and their families. Knowing the Lord’s sheep are worth our protection and our love, we are committed to loving this body and rooting out evil. We know this may affect your trust because we know it certainly has rattled ours,” the statement reads.

In a post on Instagram afterwards, she wrote that  she was “off to China Town with my man for some epic Chinese food for lunch!” At the time, it was unclear whether she was aware of her husband’s firing.

On Sunday, however, Ivey’s team posted a statement saying that she received “devastating news” while on her book tour and has since paused “all public appearances at this time.”

“On her behalf, our team asks for prayer and support for everyone involved who are hurting."

In 2021, the couple released the book Complement, which also included a Bible study on marriage. They both hold to a complementarian view of marriage, which stresses male leadership.

Another horrendous child abuse in the United States took place and this time, it is very hellish. Only a deranged people with evil mind can do such a thing and off course, the usual suspects are crazy white people

A Pennsylvania white stupid and evil couple allegedly beat their 6-year-old daughter, starved her for days on end and kept her zip-tied and locked in a dog crate at night, authorities said.

Jacob William Weight Sr., 37, and Mimi Ann Frost, 33, were arrested last week following an “extensive investigation” that began when Pennsylvania state troopers were first sent to the couple’s Brownsville Borough home on January 7, officials announced.

Weight had called 911 that day, reporting that his young daughter went limp and suffered an apparent seizure when one of the other five children in the house tried to bathe her.

When police later arrived, they found the suburban home in “deplorable condition,” with feces smeared on the ground, a smell of urine and trash strewn about.

The couple’s nephew, who lived in the house along with their children, told officials the girl had been locked in a dog crate every night and forced to eat dog food.

Investigators found evidence suggesting the girl was “unable to get out of the cage” and was “punished” any time she did get out to find food, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele told KDKA.

“For lack of a better way to put it, she had been tortured in that house,” he said.

Weight did not allow first responders into the house, and instead marched the young girl out himself, the district attorney noted.

She was covered in open sores and extensive bruises, and appeared to have been malnourished, KDKA reports.

When she arrived at Uniontown Hospital,  she was found to be hypothermic, with a body temperature registering at only 88.7 degrees Fahrenheit.

The girl also reportedly had broken and rotted teeth, swollen feet and appeared not to have received pediatric care in more than three years, according to a medical report obtained by the Observer-Reporter.

Police also noted in an arrest report that the doctors at the hospital “stated multiple times … that she could have died as a result of this egregious abuse and neglect, and if she returns to her current environment, she is likely to die of abuse and neglect.”

During the ensuing investigation, police said Weight and Frost’s nephew described how the young girl’s mother would zip-tie her hands and feet, lock her in the cage naked and refuse to wash her.

The teenager said the floor underneath the dog crate was deteriorating because the child’s feces and urine were never cleaned up.

Another child inside the home told officers the couple wanted the girl to eat her own waste, according to WTAE.

She was never enrolled in school, but once told a therapist she was forced to eat dog food and sleep in the crate every night.

She also said her father once shot her in the legs with a BB gun, and told police her parents “busted my head open a couple times with a lighter,” according to court documents obtained by the Observer-Reporter.

Making matters worse for the young girl, Aubele said investigators found evidence that “at least a few” of the other children participated in the abuse.

He suggested it is possible that some of the children, who range in age from 5 to 17, could also face charges.

“It does seem like they were raised with the notion that this … girl … deserved it,” he told WTAE.

Police are still trying to figure out what led the parents to abuse the young girl and not the other children in the home, Aubele said, calling their actions “incredibly callous.”

A Stamford white police officer has been arrested for his role in a deadly crash that killed a Black-American pastor dead in July.

Rev. Tommie Jackson was trying to cross Wire Mill Road in Stamford after retrieving mail from his mailbox on July 26 when he was struck by a marked Stamford police patrol vehicle driven by Officer Zachary Lockwood.

Lockwood was on duty, responding to an unrelated crash without injuries on Hope Street, police said. Troopers later learned of a disturbance involving multiple people at that crash scene.

State police said Lockwood activated his lights and emergency siren intermittently. Seconds before the crash, he did not have his emergency siren on, according to troopers.

The officer was also driving well over the speed limit when the crash happened. State police said he was going at least 20 mph over the speed limit.

Officials said Lockwood tried to maneuver away after following a curve but hit Jackson, and then provided medical care to Jackson until medical crews arrived.

The police department said Lockwood was placed on administrative leave following the crash. He was arrested on Wednesday.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Lockwood, charging him with misconduct with a motor vehicle, which is a class D felony. He turned himself into police on Feb. 7 and was released on a $10,000 bond.

"Based upon this information, at the time the collision with Mr. Jackson occurred, Officer Lockwood’s police vehicle did not meet the elements of an emergency vehicle," state police said in a statement.

Police said Reverend Jackson was a friend and adviser to many members of the Stamford Police Department.

The Stamford Police Department Internal Affairs Unit is conducting an internal investigation. Lockwood is due in court on Feb. 21.
