Russian millionaire and politician shot a man whom he mistaken for a bear.

Moscow - Russian millionaire and politician Igor Redkin, 55, explained in a statement to the Russian local media that he had heard a noice whom he thought was a bear at the landfill in the village of Ozernovsky in Kamchatka on August 2.
Wanting to scare the animal away, Redkin fired his gun at the direction of the noice but later "found out that it was local man in the village whom he had shot. The 30 year old who was shot mistaken for a wild bear suffered severe injury, he was rushed to the nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Last week a criminal investigation of the case was opened; he left his party and said that he is "prepared to accept the punishment determined by the courts
He will spend a two-month house arrest sentence as an interim restrictive measure for accidentally shooting the man outside a dump near the village of Ozernovsky, in the Ust-Bolsheretsky district, according to state-owned news agency RIA.
Redkin is the co-owner of several large companies in the Kamchatka Peninsula and has been described as one of the richest officials in Russia.
He said he was "ready to accept the sentence the court will impose."
Since then, the politician has left President Vladimir Putin's United Russia party.
