American man of Michigan arrested for stabbing his own wife to death

Ricardo Z. Orozco was arraigned Tuesday by Judge Michael Chupa in 37th District Court in Warren and is being held in the county jail in lieu of a $2 million bond

A Warren man is facing charges after authorities say his wife's body was found in the back of his vehicle at a gas station over the weekend.

Ricardo Orozco was allegedly sitting in the driver's seat of his Dodge Durango on Saturday while his wife, who had been stabbed to death, was dead in the back seat, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said.

Orozco is charged with second-degree murder. His bond was set at 2 million dollars cash/surety. 

"This tragic event has destroyed a family. October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s remember that violence is never the answer," said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido.

Orozco was arraigned Tuesday by Judge Michael Chupa in 37th District Court in Warren and is being held in the county jail in lieu of a $2 million bond, according to court records.

Orozco was found Saturday in the driver’s seat of his Dodge Durango at a gas station with his wife’s body with multiple stab wounds in the back of the vehicle, said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said police do not know where the woman was stabbed.

“It could’ve been committed anywhere in the state of Michigan,” he said, but the case is being handled by the Warren Police Department.

“This tragic event has destroyed a family. October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s remember that violence is never the answer,” Lucido said in a news release.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Oct. 17 in Warren district court.
