CNN: Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed the war in Israel was a "failure of the United States policy in the Middle East," in his first public comments on the war which has left over 1,000 Israelis dead and thousands injured.
Putin accused the US of trying to "to monopolize any settlement" between the two sides in a statement made at the Kremlin.
The Russian president said the US was "putting forward their own ideas," and was not concerned with "finding compromises,"
Putin went on to call for both sides to minimize civilian casualties.
Putins own war in Ukraine has resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties.
