Cambodian man of Phnom Penh arrested for raping 6-year-old niece 

Koy Kong, 31, was watching pornography when her niece came inside his room and that's when he saw to opportunity

A Phnom Penh man has been arrested after the rape of his 6 year old niece, prompted by the man viewing pornography on his mobile phone.

The Police Inspectorate of Po Sen Chey District arrested Koy Kong, male, 31 years old and took him for questioning at 20:00 on January 11, 2024 in Trapeang Romchek village, Sangkat Choam Chao I, Khan Por Sen Chey.

According to sources, before the incident, the suspect was viewing pornography on a mobile phone, then the victim, his 6-year-old niece, came to sit in the room with the suspect.

Seizing a good opportunity, the suspect closed the door, locked the door and raped her.

The victim’s mother then went to the Chaom Chao I Administrative Police Station to file a complaint for intervention after learning of the crime

After receiving the complaint, the police went down to arrest the suspect.

In front of the police, the suspect admitted that he had indeed committed such an act.

The suspect is currently being held in pre-trial detention to build a case to be sent to court for further proceedings.
