Eduardo Clark , director of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP) of Mexico City ( CDMX ), reported that the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 , Sputnik V , "has given very good results" in the country's capital, for which called on young people ages 30 to 39 to get vaccinated.
In the interview with Danielle Dithurbide, the official stated that the vaccination plan against COVID-19 for CDMX is advancing in a timely manner, and was even a little ahead of time since it was expected that adults between 30 and 39 years old would be vaccinated, with at least one dose, in mid-August.
The CDMX Government will continue to intensify vaccination against COVID-19 , since immunization is the only alternative in the short, medium and long term to mitigate the spread of the disease, Clark said.
The official said that the restrictions that the Spuntnik V vaccine has when traveling could change since its approval is under investigation by the EMA, and affirmed that eventually the doses will be approved.
Clarck pointed out that Spuntnik V was applied in many municipalities of CDMX, mainly to adults aged 60 and over, and the response of the population was very good since there was greater attendance than in the centers that applied the SinoVac and AstraZeneca doses .
"The best vaccine we can have is the vaccine that we have," he said.
The director of the ADIP admitted that the increase in hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the capital of the country, 'does worry', because there was a rebound in the last 10 days.
The CDMX Government for now has not contemplated closing business due to the increase in COVID-19 , but it will be aware of the figures for the following days, Eduardo Clark commented.
