The boyfriend of a 27-year-old tech worker who was killed last month in San Francisco pleaded not guilty to murder charges, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office told SFGATE.

Scott Fisher, 29, of San Francisco appeared in court on Friday for his arraignment, days after the district attorney’s office said it was investigating Kimberly Wong’s death as an act of domestic violence.

On Monday, Fisher was formally charged with murder in connection with Wong’s death. He is accused of killing Wong with a knife, according to the charges filed against Fisher. Her body was found in her Presidio Heights apartment on Nov. 30.

Fisher is believed to have lived with Wong in their apartment on the 3200 block of Clay Street, the DA’s office said. He was arrested Dec. 7 in Concord. Fisher was booked into the San Francisco County Jail and remains in custody without bail, according to jail records.

Meenha Lee, the public defender who previously told the San Francisco Standard that her office will be representing Fisher “zealously,” did not respond to SFGATE’s request for comment.

Fisher worked at an SF-based software company, Databricks, until October 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. The company has not responded to SFGATE’s multiple requests for comment.

If convicted, Fisher could serve 26 years to life in state prison. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 10 to set a date for his preliminary hearing, the DA’s office told SFGATE.
