A 36-year-old man has been arrested on a murder charge after officers
to a Roy home, where they discovered a 2-year-old boy unresponsive, and his twin sister with apparent injuries from assault or abuse.
Jonathan Dunn was booked into the Weber County Jail on one count of murder, two counts of aggravated sex abuse, and two counts of aggravated child abuse.
Stuart Hackworth, a spokesperson for Roy police, reported that they received the call around 9:55 a.m. on Thursday near 1950 W 4450 S.
Upon arrival, officers found a 2-year-old boy in cardiac arrest, unresponsive with obvious injuries from assault or abuse.
The boy was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead during transportation.
A second 2-year-old girl, identified as the boy's twin sister, was also found inside the home.
Hackworth said that she was transported to a nearby hospital, also with obvious injuries from assault or abuse.
"She was also transported to the hospital, and thank goodness due to the officers ability to see what was going on, their quick response along with medical apparently saved her life," Hackworth said.
Other children were inside the home, and according to Hackworth, they have since been removed and placed in a safe location.
No other details were immediately available. The incident remained under investigation.
