A Bucks County man has been charged with raping a 15-year-old in a grocery store parking lot a few months ago.
Miguel Angel Sanchez, 32, was charged in November with multiple counts of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, trafficking in individuals, and related crimes.
On Oct. 24, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office says Quakertown police received report of a rape that happened the night before in the parking lot of a Giant on West Broad Street.
The 15-year-old victim told police a man had raped her inside his white, four-door car.
Police reviewed surveillance video from that area, where they say a white Sedan was seen pulling into the parking around the same time of the rape. They later linked the car to Sanchez and matched his license photo to an image the girl had of him on her phone.
Police say the girl had met Sanchez once before and they exchanged information through Snapchat.
The two had chatted in the app, during which, Sanchez would ask her for nude photos and videos in exchange for money.
They say Sanchez had also reached out via Snapchat to one of the girl’s friends, a 16-year-old, asking for similar things.
Sanchez was arrested on Nov. 3 following an investigation by the Quakertown Borough Police Department.
He waived his preliminary hearing for the case on Nov. 16 and is now awaiting formal arraignment, scheduled for Dec. 15.
