Barbacena (MG)-A 35-year-old woman was arrested this Monday (13), suspected of killing her 1 year and 3 month old daughter in the city of Barbacena, 169 km from Belo Horizonte.
According to the police report, the initial inspection carried out on Liandra Yuko's body indicates that the girl was hit with approximately 20 knife blows in the face and neck region.
The alleged aggression was discovered by the girl's grandmother after arriving at the family's house and finding the child lying on the kitchen floor, with a bloody body. At this time, according to the grandmother's reports, Flaviana Araújo Kirogi, the child's mother, ran away from the property.
The girl was still alive. The grandmother and neighbors called the Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service), but the victim died soon after.
Later, Flaviana Araújo Kirogi called the family and spoke by phone with a police officer who was still there. The woman reportedly said that "something horrible happened" but did not report what it would be.
The suspect told the military where she was and was found near a cafeteria in the city. A car driver reported to PMs that he was approached by the woman on the street, while she asked to call the police that she had done something wrong.
After being arrested, the investigated told the military only that she had an outbreak while she was in the kitchen with her daughter, but that she did not remember what happened in the house. The Military Police did not locate the knife that would have been used in the crime.
Also according to the police record, agents arrested Flaviana's husband last Saturday (10) after she reported having been assaulted by him.
