Another 4th of July mass shooting in the United States leaving 2 dead in Cincinnati

After the mass shooting in Fort Worth Como, another one took place in Cincinnati. Two people have died after a mass shooting near Smale Park on 4th of July.

Just a little before 11 p.m., five people were shot, according to police. Two have died.

One of the victims died in the park, another died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Two other victims are at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and another is at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Two of the victims have minor injuries and one is in critical condition, according to police.

Police said that the scene was along Mehring Way at The Banks, near Smale Park.

Colonel Lisa Davis said that 400-500 teenagers were at Smale Park at the time of the incident. The park was busy the entire day, she said.

Officers had arrived to begin clearing the park when they heard gunshots, according to police.

Davis said the crime scene spans most of Smale Park. Officers do not yet have any information about the shooter.

The shooting was after the Sawyer Point Park 4th of July celebration.

Mehring Way is closed from Paul Brown Stadium to Great American Ball Park, according to police. Joe Nuxhall Way is closed from East Mehring Way to 2nd Street. All roads south of Freedom Way are closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The roads are likely to be closed overnight, according to police.

This is the fifth mass shooting in Greater Cincinnati this year.

Nearly 110 people have been injured in mass shootings in the Cincinnati region in the last six years.
