The defence lawyer of Chansley Albert Watkins engaged in heated arguement with US district court in Washington that the sharp pointed flagpole that Chansley carried all through out the insurrection that looked like a spear, was not even a real one and should not be considered as a deadly weapon.
Extremists during the Capitol riot clashed against the police, they used flag poles to beat the police which were captured on video many times leaving 5 dead and many injured.
Chansley who was predilected to be photographed inside the US senate chamber looking odd in his horned hat and wierd tatoos and makeup , also known as a QAnon blind follower and adherent supporting the bizarre conspiracy theory that cast Trump is a prophesied white divine savior and elite Democrats as cabals of satanist pedophiles and cannibals.
The QAnon conspiracy theory also includes a nonsensical prophecy that Trump will be reinstated in August which poses a grave threat to the national security because this is another factor that may trigger domestic terror and violence from the white nationalists, white supremacists, proud boys, neo-nazis, members of KKK and other trump supporters.
Chansley is now undergoing thoughrough pdychological assessment in order to determine that he has a sound mental state in order to stand federal trial.
Watkins said that he is expecting Chansley's psychological evaluation would "be forthcoming in short order."
During the court hearing, Watkins concured that his client needs psychological health services, a problem of Chansley's mental health issue that was already documented way back in 2006, when he served in the US military. Watkins said that Chansley could acquire the mental health treatment in his hometown in Pheonix.
A federal prosecutor told a jude that the time is not "yet ripe" to re-examine whether Chansley should be placed in custody until the psychiatric assessment is completed.
