Russia's Sputnik V may be the best vaccine against Delta variant of Covid-19

On June 27, Israel reports that 50 percent of adult population inoculated with Pfizer got infected with the highly contagious and rapid spreading Delta variant of Covid-19. Because of this, many are now becoming doubtful when it comes to the efficiency of Pfizer in combatimg the highly contagious Delta variant. In addition, study in the US military, found out that there were few who suffered myocarditis or heart enlargement after given shots with Pfizer.

On a contrary, the Russian counterpart may give a more promising result amid the rise of cases of Delta variant of Covid-19 infections globally.

Russia's Sputnik V is around 90 percent effective against the Delta variant of Covid-19. The RIA news agency cited Denis Lagunov, Deputy director of the Gamaleya Institute that developed the vaccine, as saying on Tuesday.

The Sputnik V vaccine was found out by researchers to be almost 92% effective against the original strain of corona virus.

Lagunov said the Delta variant efficacy figure was calculated based on information from digital medical records and on vaccination records. Lagunov also said that Sputnik V shows smaller decline in efficacy against Delta than any other vaccine that published efficacy results against Delta variant.
